The world's focus is on the 2016 Rio Olympic Games right now but in less than eighteen months South Korea will host the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics from 9-25 February, 2018.
In the lead up to the 2018 Pyeonchang Winter Olympics there will be many exciting events for visitors to join. For foreigners lucky enough to be in Seoul this September they can apply for a free ticket to the Pyeongchang K-Pop Festival being held in Seoul on Thursday, 8 September.
The Pyeonchang K-Pop Festival will be held at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul and is organized and hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Korea Tourism Organization. The two and half hour concert will feature many of Korea's top K-Pop stars including boy groups SHINee, BEAST, B.A.P, Boys Republic, MONSTA X and girl groups Wonder Girls and WJSN.
Besides the K-Pop concert there will be other activities to enjoy at the festival like the hallyu drama experience booth, photo wall and more.
To participate in the event, foreigners must visit the festival website to apply for a ticket online in advance and receive a ticket coupon number. Foreigners who successfully registered for a ticket in advance can then pick up their ticket at the Foreigner Information & Ticket Booth on-site on the day of the concert. To receive the ticket you must present your ticket coupon and passport. Only one ticket per person can be issued. The ticket booth will be open at the venue on the 8th September from 1pm- 6.30pm and concert starts from 7.00pm.
Application period to apply online is from 16 August - 2 September, 2016.
