Get On The Slopes And Enjoy Great Last Minute Snow In Alberta

Travel Alberta

Great snowfall in Banff this weekend means that Alberta has some excellent spring skiing conditions. With sun, snow and four weeks left to ski there really is no better place to go. Banff is Canadas highest elevated town and with its location in the centre of Canada the snow stays consistent right up until mid May. Banff has one of the longest ski seasons in North America.

Visitors can also take advantage of some late season deals including two-for-one lift tickets when booking through a travel agent (after 13th April), FREE skiing and FREE accommodation. Plus save up to 150 on Air Canada flights for next season. For more information on these great offers and to book please visit www.banffcanada.co.uk.

The ultimate big mountain experience is back at Sunshine Village. Sunshine Village is Albertas number one ski and snowboard resort and has had more than 490 centimetres of snow this year, and a snow pack of 174 centimetres. The Wild West - Sunshines second extreme skiing terrain - opened late March and features the most extreme in-bounds terrain available in North America. Not for the faint hearted, the Wild West features three major rock-walled couloirs, steep crevices and a series of cliffs, some reaching more than 30 metres.

Marmot Basin, Jasper, also has plenty of snow and will remain open until 26th April 2009. With great conditions, B-B-Qs on the decks and live music at the wind up party on the final weekend its a great time to visit. Take advantage of the Snow Days package which offers 30 per cent off midweek room rates and lift tickets which can be booked through many hotels in Jasper. More information can be found at www.skimarmot.com.
