In an exciting night for the get lost team last Thursday, the magazine won Consumer Magazine of the Year (below 20,000 circ) at the Publish Awards, held at Randwick Racecourse.
“get lost is a well-designed, high-quality production with authentic editorial,” the jury said. “[It] has built a model that works and is a well-produced, interesting read that is bang on target for its audience.”
The team – publisher Justin Jamieson, editor Carrie Hutchinson and deputy editor Nikola Sarbinowski (editorial assistant Samantha Kodila was unable to attend) – were there to accept the award from the publisher of website The Carousel, Robyn Foyster.
The win comes on the eve of the magazine's fiftieth issue, which will be published on 6 October.
“get lost has certainly evolved in the 12 years since we launched it,” said Jamieson. “We have a lot of fun putting it together, but it's fantastic to have the hard work and dedication to creating a unique product for our market acknowledged.”
The magazine was also nominated in the Publish Excellence Awards, and Grin Creative, publisher of get lost, was nominated in the Small Publisher of the Year category.
