Get Lost Goes to the Beach

get lost magazine

The winter chill has set in, so it's no surprise thoughts have turned to sunnier climates. In issue 41, get lost takes a trip to the beach. Not any old stretch of sand, mind you. Turn to our special feature, Chasing the Sun, to discover 20 of the best secret beaches around the world. Some are remote, others deserted. There are even some that are near our favourite destinations but are simply yet to hit the travel radar.

From a much-loved diversion in New York City to a beach where the wild things roam free on Africa's west coast – via Mexico, Italy and the Philippines – there will be something in our selection for every traveller's wish list.

“The attraction of a beach holiday is fairly universal,” says get lost publisher, Justin Jamieson. “But for our readers it's about more than a sunlounge and endless piña coladas. We've discovered spots that are truly special – for their natural beauty, the people you'll meet, the wildlife (both on land and in the water) and that sense that you've discovered something you'll never forget.”

Elsewhere in the issue, we jump into Scotland's watery depths to swim with basking sharks, slow right down to appreciate life in Samoa, light up at Taiwan's annual lantern festival and trek into Brazil's Chapada Diamantina National Park. As far as city life goes, there's an alternative guide to discovering Miami's after-hours attractions, a feast of tradition in Nashville and a local tour around London's Shoreditch.

Also with issue 41 of get lost, readers will receive a free My Adventure Guide mini magazine. Produced by the teams at get lost and My Adventure Store, its 32 pages are packed with inspiration for journeys to some of the world's best destinations.

You'll find all this and more in the new issue of get lost magazine. On sale 2 July from newsagents and online from Apple Newsstand and Amazon.
