To ensure guests kick off their summer fitness in the right way, Maggie Derblay, Fitness Director of One&Only Resorts, offers advice for an active break away. Starting with the resorts front desk for a list of adventurous activities the family can do together, to maintaining regular meal patterns, packing healthy snacks during the day and encouraging the whole family to participate in culinary workshops. Her top tips also include making sure the whole family are drinking eight to ten glasses of water a day and also making the most of all sports activities offered.

There's no better opportunity than a holiday to take a step back and focus on your health and wellbeing. One&Only Reethi Rah offers exciting new developments for summer 2013 to make this year's health-kick a memorable one.

New for 2013, One&Only Reethi Rah has launched private classes in simple meditation and yogic breathing practices held around its beautifully tranquil grounds. Following a variety of mediation and breathing modalities has been shown to effectively lower blood pressure and, with locations including an over-water yoga studio, ocean-side cabanas and in-villa classes, guests will enjoy learning this path to relaxation and inner peace in serene locations.



These new classes combine perfectly with time spent at the resort's new and improved ESPA spa which is consistently voted one of the best in the world and now boasts a new selection of sophisticated and revolutionary treatments and therapies. New for 2013, Watsu (WATer ShiatSU) - a form of aquatic therapy which quiets the mind, relaxes the body and opens the heart, and The Maldivian Journey - a new treatment which begins in the Watsu Pool, followed by a refreshing fruit mocktail, an invigorating body scrub and a heavenly full body massage. What's more, Only&Only Reethi Rah has partnered with Institut Esthederm Paris to open its very own exclusive Sun Spa Esthederm, the only Sun Spa in the Maldives, providing tailored sun care and tanning programmes for guests.

For a more active experience, Mark Hehir, General Manager of One&Only Reethi Rah and keen marathon runner, offers guests the opportunity to join him in his training along the long stretches of oceanfront pathways and trails on the private island's picture-perfect periphery. With 6.5 kilometres of coastal jogging paths, Mark leads three runs a week offering a different distance each time. Mark is also always available to suggest the best route for any guest, whether a novice jogger or marathon pro.

One&Only Reethi Rah is also delighted to continue its partnership with personal trainer and health guru to the stars, James Duigan. Following his recent return to the resort and further resort-staff training, One&Only Reethi Rah's in-house personal training team are fully qualified in the art and execution of Bodyism and the benefits of Clean&Lean living.

Another new addition to the resort for the summer is a luxurious Beach Club. A new area for guests to relax and unwind on sun loungers and day beds close to the water, the beach club is the perfect location for a long lazy lunch, and, with the unique Sun Spa just steps away, guests can receive the best possible sun care and massages right on the beach. One&Only Le Saint Géran, Mauritius

New for 2013, One&Only Le Saint Géran has announced the launch of "Harmonia", its new holistic Wellbeing Journey, a complete wellbeing experience rooted in Eastern traditions and designed to help guests re-balance inside and out, by nourishing both body and mind. Unique on the island of Mauritius, Harmonia offers guests the opportunity to balance, detox and re-balance. Based upon the principles of Chinese medicine and developed by Francesc Miralles, a highly respected Chinese medicine authority and practitioner, the seven day programme combines the perfect balance of eastern and western modalities with each journey created according to the individual. Another exciting new addition to the resort this year is resident water ski champion Francis Koot. Francis is a four time world champion coach and a thirteen time European champion and is now on resort waiting to help both children and their parents look like a pro on the waters with personalised coaching available daily.



Water-skiing is great fun for the whole family and the beautiful turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean are an excellent place to try your hand at a new water sport. With insider information from Francis, guests will be in expert hands and guaranteed to learn some amazing new skills. Great fun for parents, the lessons will also ensure children go home with some very exciting tales to tell their school friends.

For those feeling inspired by the London Marathon or perhaps keen to make this summer the one to take up a new hobby, guests can embark on a running regime in the beautiful surroundings of One&Only Le Saint Géran on their 6km and 10km sand and road running routes. The resort's fitness teams offer weekly organized runs through breath-taking local scenery, even offering barefoot runs on the beach and training runs in the pool.
