Garuda Indonesia Implements New Passenger Services System

Garuda Indonesia to implement Amadeus Altéa delivering a seamless travel experience

Ahead of joining SkyTeam in 2014, Garuda Indonesia will implement the Amadeus Altéa Passenger Services System (PSS), the platform used by members of the airline alliance.

The change in system will ensure seamless integration of all booking processes between the member airlines, streamlining all operations to provide a unified database. Each airline can access information on seat availability, air tariffs, bookings and ground handling through the check-in and frequent flyers services of other member airlines.

As a result of the transition, Garuda Indonesia will be connected to other SkyTeam members including KLM, Air France, TAROM, Air Europa, Czech Airlines and MEA.

The new system will replace Garuda Indonesia's current reservation system, ARGA, which has been used since 1990. The switch-over will take place on 29 June 2013 at 9pm and is expected to be completed by 30 June 2013 at 11am.

"This switch in system is part of our strategic Quantum Leap 2011-2015 programme. By implementing Altéa we will be able to continue increasing productivity, efficiency, revenue and reliability in the future. Altéa will ultimately simplify business processes in our on-going transformation and will allow Garuda Indonesia to provide a comfortable and smooth travel experience for our passengers", says Emirsyah Satar, CEO of Garuda Indonesia.

Through its Quantum Leap 2011-2015 programme, by 2015 Garuda Indonesia and Citilink will operate 194 aircraft, an increase in 82 aircraft from its current 112. As a result, 45.4 million passengers per year are expected to travel, an increase in 25 million travellers. To meet this demand flight frequency will increase from 400 daily flights to 1,100 flights per day.

During the switch-over, the reservations and ticketing system will be inaccessible through the Garuda Indonesia
website www.garudaindonesia.co.uk and call centre.
