Indonesia's national carrier will offer return fares starting at £556 to celebrate its new non-stop route
As Indonesia's national carrier prepares to launch the first ever non-stop service from London to Jakarta on 29 May 2014, the airline has created special introductory rates for return economy class bookings that depart before 1 July 2014*. From sale today, these rates start at £576 for flights to Jakarta and £556 and £948 for connecting flights to Bali and Sydney respectively. Garuda Indonesia will initially fly non-stop between Jakarta and London three times a week, departing from Jakarta at 01:05 LT, arriving at London Gatwick at 09.30 LT, and departing from London Gatwick at 11.00 LT and arriving in Jakarta at 06:50 LT the next day.
Garuda Indonesia's President and CEO, Emirsyah Satar, says "We are very excited to be launching the first non-stop flight from London to Jakarta and to announce our new fares. The new rate has been designed to attract leisure and business travelers alike and we believe these fares will definitely give competitors a run for their money."

Garuda Indonesia will offer the first and only non-stop scheduled flights from London to Jakarta starting May 2014. The flights will operate three times a week until October 2014, when the frequency will increase to five times a week.
The airline has ordered ten new B777-300ER aircraft; July 2013 saw the arrival of the first new aircraft and there will be subsequent deliveries up until January 2016. These will hold eight First Class seats, 38 Business Class seats and 268 Economy Class seats.
