Galaxy Macau Wins a Prestigious Asia Pacific Hotel Award

Galaxy Macau

Galaxy Macau has won the Best Resorts: Macau award at the prestigious International Hotel Awards in the 2013 Asia Pacific regional competition. Galaxy Macau competed against a number of hoteliers in the region to receive this recognition. Successful entrants have been invited to attend a high-profile gala and presentation dinner at the Shangri-La Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on May 10th where the official announcements were made.

Stuart Shield, president of the International Hotel Awards, said, “The entries that we receive from the Asia Pacific region become more impressive year after year. The winning companies have outshone their peers and proven exceptional levels of professionalism and competence in their field.”

The International Hotel Awards are the international 5-star standard of hotel ratings.  It is the only organisation to provide 5-star accolades at an international level.  The International Hotel Awards global competition determines the finest hotels and hospitality companies in the world.  The Asia Pacific Hotel Awards are part of the International Hotel Awards.  The award winners’ logo is recognised as a symbol of excellence throughout the global industry. Attaining one of these coveted awards is indisputable evidence that Galaxy Macau is capable of outperforming some exceedingly strong contenders within the highly competitive Asia Pacific hospitality arena.

Up to three 5-star awards for 13 categories are awarded on a national level before going on to compete on a regional level.  The regional winners are automatically entered into the overall International Awards, which ultimately determine the world’s finest resorts and hotels.  The judging panel consists of approximately 70 professionals from the property and hospitality industry. The joint chair of the selection panel is Lord Bates and Sir David Michels, retired Group CEO of Hilton Hotels.

Later this year, the highest scoring winners from the Asia Pacific Hotel Awards will compete against other winning companies from UK, Europe, Africa, the Americas and Arabia to find the ultimate World’s Best in each category. The Asia Pacific region has an enviable record of achievement at international level. In the 2012 World’s Best Hotel Awards, Asia Pacific received double and triple the number of awards that the other regions received.

Building upon the success of business events first added to the 2012 award ceremonies, the International Hotel Awards also hosted a Property & Hospitality Show on May 9th and 10th at the same venue.  A number of professional networking events, including seminars, discussion tables and an exhibition attended by presidents, CEOs, managing directors, chairmen and other decision makers.  The event presented an ideal opportunity to make connections and generate new business. The 2013 Asia Pacific Property & Hospitality Show is open to all industry related companies and suppliers in addition to award participants.
