A stylish trullo in Puglia, the heel of Italy, is just one of the new properties opening in 2015 that are now available to book through the accommodation website Further Afield.
Further Afield is the only collection currently offering Trullo Terrabronzato (pictured, left), just outside the ancient town of Cisternino. The traditional Puglian dwelling dates from the 17th century and features the conical roofs that have made these rural dwellings world-famous. The trullo has been renovated and extended to offer three bedrooms, with interiors mixing modern comforts with antique furnishings. It is surrounded by olive groves and orchards and has a private pool, as well as terraces for sunbathing and dining. Prices start from £1,500 per week.
The gay-friendly, hand-picked accommodation website – which is becoming an increasingly popular resource for travellers regardless of sexuality for the warm welcome at the heart of its offering – is also first to feature the newly renovated Arriadh Hotel in Spain. The six-bedroom boutique property just outside Ronda will benefit from the addition of a pool this summer. The price is from €75 per room per night and there is a 10% discount on stays of three nights or more.
Villa Karingal (pictured, centre right) in Lombok, Indonesia, is also brand new to the holiday accommodation scene and currently only features within the Further Afield collection. The smart four-bedroom B&B is just outside the beach resort of Senggigi on the west coast of Lombok in Indonesia. Rooms are available to rent from US$85 (£54) per night to US$500 (£318) per week.
Other new properties on the website include Shepherd's Cottage (pictured, centre left) in the Lake District, a one-bedroom romantic retreat for couples, from £400 for a three-night weekend or four-night midweek break and £650 per week.
Meanwhile, Wringapeak (pictured, right), a contemporary apartment for four, overlooking Woody Bay on the Devon coast, costs from £150 per night or £750 for a week for the whole property.

Notes to editors:
Further Afield is an independent collection of small boutique hotels, B&Bs and holiday homes. It champions accommodation with personality and flair and a welcome for everyone – gay, lesbian and straight. The owners of the properties featured are trailblazers – the first to open in a new neighbourhood, break the moulds of design and hospitality, or simply breathe new life into a familiar destination. Guests booking through Further Afield get the best rates – no extra fees – because they are booking direct with the owners, and often benefit from exclusive deals, too.
Further Afield was launched in the UK in 2010 by Simon Forrester and Andrew Craven during the furore around gay couples being turned away from B&Bs. They saw the need to respond to the growing demand for places to unwind and relax without fear of prejudice. During the past four years, the collection has grown from 30 properties in the UK to more than 270 in 23 countries, including Britain, France, Italy and Spain. Meanwhile, Further Afield has found favour not only with the LGBT community but also many straight travellers in search of discerning and honest recommendations.
Simon and Andrew and their small team of trusted reviewers have carefully selected every hotel, B&B and holiday home in the collection to ensure quality, comfort and a friendly and professional service for everyone. Tight quality control is key to Further Afield, which turns away many more establishments than it takes on.
