Front Row Seats to the Thrilling Evolution of Sailing

Captain Cook Cruises

Captain Cook Cruises has partnered with SailGP as the 'Official Spectator Boat' provider for the inaugural SailGP global competition on Sydney Harbour from February 15-16, 2019. Captain Cook Cruises will offer two spectator packages onboard their boats, the Club Pass and Fan Pass.

SailGP's world premiere event will provide the ultimate spectator experience, with Australian fans being the first to witness the fastest, most technologically advanced catamarans competing at breathtaking speeds of up to 100 kilometres per hour.

The SailGP competition includes national teams from Australia, Great Britain, United States, France, China and Japan, all racing identical supercharged F50 catamarans, over five thrilling grand prix events held around the globe, for a coveted $1 million championship prize.

Races will take place in Sydney, San Francisco, New York City, Cowes (UK) and Marseille (France) where the winner will be crowned.

SailGP's curtain raiser on Sydney Harbour will see Australian Olympic hero and America's Cup winner Tom Slingsby lead Australia's crew who will compete against some of the world's most talented, athletic and hyper-competitive sailors.

Captain Cook Cruises will offer two spectator packages, the Club Pass and Fan Pass.

Both passes provide exceptional on-water experiences for adults and families, with boats located in perfect viewing position on the race area perimeter. There will also be live TV coverage on screens aboard each Official Spectator Boat.

Club Passes are available onboard flagship vessel, Sydney 2000 and include a standing buffet and premium wine, beer and soft drinks. Sydney 2000 offers spectacular viewing over four levels including an open top deck with uninterrupted 360-degree harbour viewing. Private viewing rooms are also available onboard, for fans wishing to host a private group.

Club Passes on Friday February 15, 2019 are priced at $249 per adult and $199 per child (4-15 years). Club passes on Saturday February 16, 2019 are priced at $299 per adult and $249 per child (4-15 years).

Fan Passes are available onboard spectator catamarans, Nancy Wake and Maggie Cat, with drinks available for purchase and an option for guests to bring their own food.

Fan Passes on Friday February 15, 2019 are priced at $89 per adult and $75 per child (4-15 years). Fan Passes on Saturday February 16, 2019 are priced at $109 per adult and $89 per child (4-15 years).

All Official Spectator Boats will depart King Street Wharf No.1. On Friday February 15, boats will depart at 2.45pm and return at 7.00pm. On Saturday February 16, boats will depart at 1.45pm and return at 6.00pm.

Private or corporate charters for SailGP spectator viewing are also available on Captain Cook Cruises' 90-foot superyacht AUSPRO (45 guests) and 65-foot catamaran Sydney Crystal (60 guests). Both boats offer luxury bars, lounges and viewing decks and will enjoy a preferred viewing position on the race perimeter.
