ST. MORITZ, SWITZERLAND – From highbrow to highlights, Badrutt’s Palace Hotel is all about exclusivity. Tradition and innovation combine on a sumptuous level in St. Moritz, where truffles, caviar and oysters, as well as the guest appearance of Michelin three-star chef Massimo Bottura, ramp up the gourmet experience this season. Meanwhile the celebrated King’s Club rings in the party season with a revamp of 1980’s hot party nights called Club Haus 80’s, marking just some of the highlights in store for guests during the 2012/13 winter season.
  • Dec 1 – January 8: Truffles, Caviar and Oysters
The winter season kicks off at The Palace with a choice of truffle specialties in all six restaurants from December 1 to 23, while from December 25 to January 8, 2013, an exquisite caviar and oyster buffet awaits guests in Le Grand Hall.
  • Jan 6: Russian Orthodox Christmas
In the run-up to the Russian Orthodox Christmas on January 7, 2013, Le Restaurant will feature a special lobster menu from January 2 to 5, 2013, while the festivities themselves, on January 6, feature a gala dinner, live entertainment and after party.
  • Dec 7: Dirty Disco at King’s Club
The legendary King’s Club gears up from December 7 with its new theme parties reviving the 80’s concepts Fluo, Japan, Disco, Ghetto Blaster (Hip Hop) and Rock. This series of hot party nights is called Club Haus 80’s, the brainchild of seven Milanese visionaries, and has since blazed a trail with Fluo Party and Dirty Disco through Europe’s capitals in London, Paris and Budapest.
  • Dec 23: Palace Chocolate Cult and Christmas festivities
The Palace Chocolate Cult, a favourite among the smallest guests who impatiently await the Christmas merriment, takes place in Le Grand Hall on December 23. Its vast array of chocolate creations by chef p'tissier Stefan Gerber makes time fly before the great Badrutt’s Palace Hotel Children’s Christmas Party with Santa Claus on December 25. As a reward, children can accompany their parents for a festive Christmas Dinner in Le Restaurant from 7:30pm on December 24 and 25 (four-course menu including live entertainment at $212 US (CH 200) per person for external guests).
  • Dec 20 – Mar 10: NOBU@Badrutt’s Palace
In a less traditional atmosphere the chic NOBU@Badrutt’s Palace comes back to life after its summer siesta to wow NOBU fans from all over the world with its innovative Japanese-Peruvian fusion cuisine from December 20 to March 10, 2013.

  • Dec 31: New Year Celebrations – The Golden Twenties
The highlight of the year is set to fall on New Year’s Eve, when the Palace will be decorated to represent The Golden Twenties, evoking the era of jazz, prosperity and flappers – think strings of pearls, feather boas, bobs – and stars such as Marlene Dietrich and Josephine Baker. Guests travel back in time to enjoy a four course gala dinner in Badrutt’s Palace Hotel $1,266 US (CH 1,200) or $528 US (CH 500) for houseguests. Alternatively there is a five-course dinner at $475 US (CH 450) in Chesa Veglia, the hotel’s own cosy farmhouse dating back to 1658. At the stroke of midnight the party moves to Le Grand Hall and King’s Club where entry is inclusive for gala guests, from $338 US (CH 320) for Chesa Veglia guests and $633 US (CH 600) for after dinner guests. Youngsters have their own New Year’s Eve party in Kids’ Club Palazzino with a fun, child-friendly evening without their parents, entry $211 US (CH 200) per child.
  • Jan 28 – Feb 1: 20th St. Moritz Gourmet Festival
Celebrating its 20th year, the St. Moritz Gourmet Festival runs from January 28 to February 1, 2013. In the traditional Le Restaurant, Badrutt’s Palace Hotel delivers heaven on a plate at the Gourmet Dinner with Guest Chef Massimo Bottura. This exceptional Italian talent has been awarded three Michelin stars and learned from the likes of Alain Ducasse and Ferran Adrià. In addition to numerous other awards, he is currently proving himself with Osteria Francescana, his own restaurant in Milan, ranked No. 4 among the World’s Best Restaurants. Bottura describes his own cuisine as “traditional seen from 10 miles away,” and wins everyone over with his spectacular creations in which his unique aromas and textures give the impression of a walk through nature. On January 30, 2013 at the legendary Kitchen Party guests get up-close with the festival chefs, eating informally while watching the stars strut their stuff amid sizzling pans and a party atmosphere.
