The Oitavos, a five star luxury hotel and spa on Portugal's Atlantic coastline, is kicking off the summer by bringing guests and members of Cascais' local community together for a celebration of music from around the world, with their newly launched 'Friday Cheers'.
Every Friday from July to September, guests will be able to enjoy the beats and the vibrant culture of four distinct cities in the hotel lounge of The Oitavos, including Los Angeles, Rio de Janeiro, New York and Paris. From 7.30pm, guests will be transported to a different part of the world, perfectly capturing the essence of each city and recreating a particular era, from the age of jazz and soul, to the rhythm and the beats of the samba.
The first evening will be 'Oitavos Los Angeles' with pianist and vocalist Magarida Campelo, a talented artist who will remind guests of the gems of pop culture. From Paris, a group of young and vibrant musicians will light up the evening and indulge guests to a time when the seduction of jazz flourished as party music. The Oitavos New York will celebrate a city renowned for its urbanity and culture by playing classic beats to support the exquisite Soul vocals of Enoque Silva. Finally, the last of the four evenings will take guests to Rio de Janeiro to capture the passions and joys of samba with Bossa Nova, a musical legend who will transport aficionados back to tropical times.
For those staying during Friday Cheers, guests can opt for the 'Friday Cheers' package priced at 245€ (approx. £197) for a single occupancy and 290€ (approx. £233) for double occupancy* including:
- One night in a superior room
