Free Tourism Upgrade Event to Talk China Tourism Marketing

Tourism Upgrade with Holly G

Did you know right now is the peak booking period for Chinese visitors coming to Australia?

If you are interested to know how they are making travel plans, researching and booking travel to Australia then come along to the next Tourism Upgrade LIVE. Tourism Upgrade LIVE are free meet-up events for those in the travel and tourism industry. The May events, held Melbourne Tuesday May 23 and Sydney Thursday May 25, will get us updated on what's working in Chinese social media, PR and trade marketing.

Event guest Shanghai based Saxon Booth, a senior manager at Chinese digital agency Dragon Trail Interactive, will share his insights and vast experience with Chinese tourism marketing. Dragon Trail Interactive was one of the first digital marketing agencies to recognise the significance of the Chinese outbound travel market to international destinations and has worked with some of the world's biggest destinations and tourism brands including Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Bureau, Destination Canada, Scoot and Norwegian Cruise Line.

Holly Galbraith host of the Tourism Upgrade podcast and Tourism Upgrade LIVE event creator, will chair the panel session. “Over 1 million Chinese visited Australia in 2016, the majority of this travel was for holiday. The growth of Chinese visitors to Australia will continue to be significant and destinations and tourism businesses of all sizes should understand if this is a market they want to attract, and if so, how to go about doing so. These upcoming events provide an easy opportunity to start asking questions and make connections with others more experienced” says Holly Galbraith.

Marketing Development Manager for BridgeClimb Sydney Kate Marsden will also join the Sydney event. Kate has worked extensively with the China market for BridgeClimb, seeing it grow by 67% in the last 12 months alone, making it now the 3rd top inbound market for BridgeClimb. Kate will share her key learnings of navigating this market over the past five years and insights into targeting the Chinese traveller through each stage of the customer journey.

The first event will be held in Melbourne on Tuesday 23 May 2017 and the second event held in Sydney on Thursday 25 May 2017, both kicking off at 6pm. The events are free however pre- registration is essential.

From Chinese consumer social media channels to PR and working with the trade, this free networking and learning event will look at marketing strategies that are delivering results for tourism brands globally.
