Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has redesigned its online training and information tool for the travel trade, the 'Travel Agent Centre'. This comprehensive agent resource – which is accessed via Fred. Olsen's main website – now features improved content, enhanced functionality and an engaging, more appealing 'new look', as well as a new online training section, which has been created in partnership with experts 'Online Travel Training' (OTT).

The timing of the upgrade coincides with Fred. Olsen's peak booking season, and it is intended that this valuable online resource will assist travel agents in maximising their sales opportunities during Fred. Olsen's highly-successful 'Turn of Year' campaign.

Nathan Philpot, Sales and Marketing Director for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said:

“This important upgrade to our Travel Agent Centre forms a key part of our commitment to providing the travel trade with the best, most effective digital tools possible, to enable agents to better understand, promote and sell a Fred. Olsen cruise.

“During 2016, we will be completing more work on the site to develop and upgrade this valuable digital resource, and we look forward to hearing agents' feedback on these improvements.”

The Travel Agent Centre's new online training section, 'Focus on Fred. Olsen', comprises five modules: 'The Fred. Difference'; 'Our Fleet'; 'Life On Board'; 'Life Ashore'; and 'Fred. Facts'. The training requires agents to read key Fred. Olsen information, watch a collection of videos and then complete a set of multiple choice questions. A pass rate of 90% is required for an agent to have completed the training successfully.

Fred. Olsen's Travel Agent Centre includes the following resources:

  • cruise booking engine

  • up-to-date lists of 'latest offers'

  • high-resolution image and video library

  • relevant and current brochures, which can be downloaded as PDFs

  • access to point-of-sale materials – including posters and items to purchase, such as pop-up banners

  • handy downloadable documents – such as ship restaurant menus, details of the 'all-inclusive' drinks upgrade and bookable extras

  • current news stories and updates on campaigns and initiatives

  • an easy-to-use 'poster creator', enabling agents to create their own tailored  marketing materials for window displays

  • advertising and brand guidelines

  • deck plans for all four ships – Balmoral, Braemar, Boudicca and Black Watch

  • cabin details, including photos of restricted view cabins

Fred. Olsen first launched its dedicated Travel Agent Centre in 2012.
