France: Latest Travel Information

Atout France

France is once again open and ready for business.

In the last few weeks, we have experienced a great deal of interest in France, which we are of course delighted about, but there have of course also been a few questions along the way. We will try and address some of the key issues in the below and we are naturally also on hand for any questions.

You may have come across sites stating that France has a voluntary 14 day quarantine in place. Please note that this is a stipulation that is due to be removed once the new French government is fully up and running following a change of Prime Minister.

We have all learned that this pandemic is rather unpredictable, so you may hear of local increases in COVID-19 numbers, possible local lockdowns etc. So please do travel responsibly, follow local guidelines and ensure that you have a valid and up-to-date travel insurance.

If you have any questions, feel free to drop us a line at pressoffice.uk@atout-france.fr.

Official information

For all of the official information on travelling to France we recommend visiting the site of the French Embassy in the UK. They compile all the latest information and updates. Their Twitter feed is also a good source of updates. More info

Health measures

France has been working hard to make the country safe and ready to welcome tourists. Please do make sure that you are aware of all the health and safety measures and please note that face masks are now compulsory in all enclosed public spaces, including shops and on public transport. Anyone caught without a mask faces a fine of €135 (£123). More info

Updates on 2020 news and re-openings

For all the re-scheduled events, exhibitions and main news for 2020, please have a look at the below link. We have also added all the re-openings of which we have been made aware. More info

Press trips

The good news is that we still support relevant press trips. As normal, we would need a confirmed commission from the media / editors. There may however be some changes to how we organise the transport and the trip itself. Please also note that many of the French destinations are only focusing on domestic media. In certain places August will be high-season and therefore not a suitable time to host media.
