The Buffalo Bill Historical Center celebrates Fourth Friday with gallery presentations and live music March 26 from 5-7 p.m. The Plains Indian Museum is open to the public during the Friday gala. Admission is free.
Curator of the Plains Indian Museum Emma I. Hansen gives three twenty-minute gallery talks, "Earth Lodge People of the Plains," at 5:20, 5:55 and 6:30 p.m. The gallery talks are held in the Hidatsa Earth Lodge in the Plains Indian Museum.
Live entertainment is "Glynfiddle" with Jeff Troxel, Randy Tracy and Ralph Sappington. Light hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar are available.
Hansen recently published "Curator's Notes," a book that offers complementary detail to the exhibit space in the Plains Indian Museum. The publication is available in Museum Selections and at www.bbhcstore.com. The Buffalo Bill Historical Center is open 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. November through March and is closed on Mondays. Hours are seasonal and vary. Five museums are devoted to Western natural and cultural history: the Whitney Gallery of Western Art, Buffalo Bill Museum, Plains Indian Museum, Cody Firearms Museum and the Draper Museum of Natural History in addition to the McCracken Research Library.
