Four Winds Goes Five Star

VisitCanberra

The Canberra District's Four Winds Vineyard has been listed as a five-star winery in the 2014 James Halliday Australian Wine Companion just released.

Four Winds Vineyard's winemaker Bill Crowe said that this was fabulous news for the family owned vineyard and winery.

'The news of the five-star rating was matched by the equally great news of 94-points for the 2012 Riesling,' he said. 'Sadly we sold out of the 2012 Riesling last weekend; luckily the 2013 is in bottle and I think better than the 2012.'

'One of our goals has been to achieve the five-star rating and it has been great that it has come this year on the back of our new cellar door opening.

'It has been particularly nice to join some of our five-star neighbours: Clonakilla, Collector Wines, Eden Road and Helm,' he said.

According to the wine companion the five star rating is given to an 'outstanding winery capable of producing wines of very high quality, and did so this year.  Also will usually have at least two wines rated at 94 points or above.'

Four Winds Vineyard is located in the Canberra District near Murrumbateman. The cellar door is open weekends and public holidays and serves wine and wood-fired pizzas.
