Follow Poldark in Cornwall

Sherpa Expeditions

If BBC's new version of 'Poldark' has inspired you to plan a trip to Cornwall, Sherpa Expeditions offers a number of itineraries, whether you are after a walking break or a cycling tour.

Filming on location across Cornwall, the trips take you to some of the region's most memorable corners featured in the series, from St Agnes Head (the show's Nampara Valley) to Botallack Mine (the mine that Poldark attempts to resurrect) and all the way to Lizard Peninsula (the setting for the shipwreck scene).

Cornish Cycle Tour
Cornwall is very much a holiday county known for its beaches, pirates and, of course, Cornish pasties. From Padstow to Lands' End through Lizard Point, the southernmost point on mainland Great Britain, this cycling journey takes you through a patchwork of landscapes, from inland heaths and downs to tumbling coastlines and sheltered coves. You must be fairly fit for this trip – the daily rides are not that long, however it can be windy!

Cornish Cycle Tour (9 days) departs daily April-October, from £685 per person
Featured in the 'Poldark' series: Botallack, Levant, Padstow, St Agnes Head, Charlestown

Cornish Coastal Path: North, West and South options
Cornwall enjoys the mildest climate in the UK, ideal for walking both early and later in the year, so Sherpa Expeditions offers three 8-day options of classic Cornish coastal walking: North, striding out from Padstow's old harbour and taking in Newquay, Britain's surf capital, and the artist town of St. Ives; West, featuring mysterious Celtic standing stones, quaint smugglers' coves and the celebrated Land's End; or South, crossing picturesque ports and fishing villages all the way to Lizard Head, the southernmost tip of mainland Britain.
