- PrivateFly's last minute empty leg private jet flights offer a VIP ski travel experience, at close to airline prices -
With a slow start to the ski season in many resorts this year and an early Easter, March is likely to see a late flurry of last minute skiers hitting the slopes. And for those looking to save time and enjoy a VIP flight experience, private jet booking service PrivateFly is offering some late notice private jet empty legs to and from airports close to European ski resorts, at prices from £393 per person one-way.
Carol Cork, Marketing Director of PrivateFly comments: “An empty leg is a one-way private jet offer that comes about when a private jet is repositioning. As the aircraft is flying anyway, the owner or operator will often be happy to sell this one-way flight at a big discount, often a fraction of the full price.
“The current demand for last minute private flights to and from ski resorts is generating a corresponding peak in empty legs, so there are some great offers available. You have to be flexible, as empty legs are one-way and their timings can change, but if people are prepared to book last minute and travel as a group, the cost per person can be surprisingly low.
“With an empty leg, you can still enjoy all the benefits of private jet travel - saving significant time by reducing waiting at the airport to just minutes, and using smaller airports to minimise ground transfers to some resorts. Sion Airport, for example, is less than an hour by road from Verbier, rather than the two to three hours from the closest airline option of Geneva. This can save many hours that can be spent on the slopes instead – invaluable on a short ski break.
“Some of our ski flights between now and Easter are offering exceptional value. Deals include London to Chambery from £393 per person and London to Geneva from £403 per person. For a larger group, or those looking to travel in ultimate VIP style, we are also offering one of the world's most desirable private jets, a Gulfstream G550 from London to Innsbruck, at less than half the usual price.
“Offers are changing all the time but here are some examples of current empty legs between the UK and airports close to European ski resorts:
