The island of Flores in Indonesia has been named one of the world's top ten regions to visit in Lonely Planet's Best in Travel 2015 yearbook. Widely recongised as the world's leading travel authority, Lonely Planet's annual publication highlights their top ten countries, cities and regions for travellers to explore in the year ahead.

Drawing on the expertise of Lonely Planet's authors, editors and online community, Flores was recognised for its picture-perfect beaches, great diving, lush tropical forests, smoking volcanoes, stunning hiking opportunities, exotic cultures and unique wildlife experiences, including the chance to get up close to Komodo dragons.

Richard Hume, Country Manager for the UK market, said: “We are thrilled that Flores has been chosen for Lonely Planet's Best in Travel 2015.With an incredibly varied landscape, travellers to the region can enjoy a kaleidoscope of experiences. From island hopping around tiny islands to trekking Mount Kelimutu with its three coloured lakes and spotting real-life dragons at Komodo National Park, the adventure possibilities here are endless.”

In addition, Flores offers new tourist offices, cafes and guesthouses, as well as upgraded roads and newly-improved airports which receive numerous daily flights from Bali. These improvements make it even easier for UK travellers to visit.
