A Heligan celebration of springtime flora and fauna with May Day traditions, floral displays, seasonal food, drawing and painting activities and wildlife trails.
The three day event will include the following activities and demonstrations:
SATURDAY 30TH APRIL
COVERED AREA 10am - 4pm �Drawing in the Spring� Join locally renowned artists Mally Francis & David Jessup (both regular visitors to Heligan) in capturing the beauty of Spring. Art materials available to all visitors for a small donation.
May Branch Competition Bring your pre-decorated May Branch for your chance to win a Heligan May Basket. Competition Age Groups � Under 9 years & 9 years and over. Winners to be announced Monday 2nd May at 4pm.
BOOKSIGNING Meet Sandra Horn, the author of our new Heligan children�s book the day �The Mudmaid� and enjoy a display of the original illustrations by Karen Popham GUIDED GARDEN TOURS 11.30am Northern Gardens Tour Departing from Flora�s Green 2.00pm Rhododendron & Camellia Tour Departing from Ravine look-out Tours last approx 1 hour. Tickets available from the Ticket Office. �1 / �1.50 per person.
WOODLAND WALK Regularly Discover the Heligan Mud Sculptures and meet their creator Sue Hill as well as �The Mudmaid� illustrator, Karen Popham.
STEWARD�S MEADOW 11am � 4pm Walk of Art Add your personalised timber disc to this interactive walkway and experience the Woodland Team�s Spring Installation.
WILDLIFE TOURS 12.00pm Mammal and Moth Trapping Identification & Tour - Departing from Horsemoor Hide. 2.30pm Spring Flower & Wild Food Walk - Departing from Horsemoor Hide. Tours last approx 1 hour. Tickets available from the Ticket Office. �1.00 per person.
HORSEMOOR HIDE All day live images of nesting birds including the Heligan Barn Owls.
11.am � 4pm Children�s Wildlife Face Painting
11am � 4pm Nest box workshop with a member of the RSPB.
SUNDAY 1ST MAY
FLORA�S GREEN 2pm - 4pm May Pole Dancing & Live Music. Where everyone is invited to come and join the dance. Our thanks to Carclaze Junior School, Duncan Ferguson, Lucy Burrow and Mike Smith.
