Flix Launches Its ChatGPT App, Bringing Sustainable and Affordable Travel Booking to Millions of Users Worldwide
Flix, the global travel-tech company behind FlixBus and FlixTrain, today announced its integration with ChatGPT, enabling users to discover and plan bus and train journeys through natural conversation.
With the integration, ChatGPT users can search for routes, compare travel options and seamlessly access Flix connections across Europe, North America, Türkiye, South America and Asia-Pacific. The experience combines conversational AI with Flix's real-time travel network and booking platform to make travel planning faster and more intuitive.
“As travellers increasingly look for simpler and smarter ways to plan trips, conversational AI is becoming a natural part of the travel experience,” said Daniel Krauss, Co-founder and Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Flix. “By bringing Flix into ChatGPT, we are making affordable and sustainable collective travel more accessible to millions of users globally.”
Launched in Munich in 2013, Flix has grown into one of the world's leading travel-tech companies, connecting travellers to more than 8,000 destinations across over 40 countries through an asset-light and technology-driven platform. Since launch, more than 500 million travellers have used Flix services worldwide.
The integration reflects Flix's continued investment in digital innovation and customer experience. Through its technology platform, Flix combines network planning, pricing, booking, and real-time passenger information into one connected ecosystem for travellers and transport partners.
Flix also sees AI-powered trip discovery as an opportunity to accelerate the adoption of collective travel. According to the company's latest ESG reporting, passengers choosing Flix services over cars or planes helped avoid an estimated 1.5 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions globally in 2025.
Available globally, the Flix ChatGPT app can now be accessed here or through ChatGPT by selecting “Apps” and searching for FlixBus. With full localisation support, it can respond in any language Flix supports and automatically direct customers to the booking domain for their market. The integration gives travellers conversational access to FlixBus extensive network of routes and destinations worldwide.
