Aer Arann Ireland�s leading regional airline increased flight frequency on its Cork-Dublin commuter service from nine to eleven flights per day for the summer schedule effective from 9th May. The two additional flights will depart Cork at 10.00am (Mon-Fri) and 1.00pm (daily) and Dublin at 6.45am (Mon-Fri) and 11.30am (Mon-Fri). The move has been welcomed by Cork Chamber of Commerce as further benefiting business passengers in the region.

This brings the total number of flights to and from Cork Airport per week to 202 for the airline, which carried just under 33,000 passengers in April and is currently operating with an on time performance of 95% across its six Cork routes including Dublin, Belfast City, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh and Southampton.

Commenting on the announcement Padraig O�Ceidigh, Managing Director for Aer Arann said �Cork is a major hub for Aer Arann with over 25% of our fleet based here and passenger numbers in excess of 133,000 for 2005 to date. We continually look for ways to develop and improve our services and believe that this increase in flight frequency on the Cork-Dublin route further enhances the services flexibility for business commuters in the region�

Micheal Geary, Chief Executive, Cork Chamber of Commerce welcomed the announcement and said �The full range of services now on offer from Aer Arann on the Cork-Dublin route offers considerable flexibility to the travelling public and practically fulfils the airlines original commitment to provide a peak time all day service�

Aer Arann is now ranked 54th among the top 100 Regional Airlines in the world according to a recent report by Airline Business. The airline was also recently awarded the Sean F. Lemass award by the Marketing Institute of Ireland in recognition of the business success achieved by the airline and the successful implementation of the marketing strategies adopted in the past five years.
