Flight Centre awarded a spot in the 'Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For' for the 12th year running
26 February 2016 – For the 12th consecutive year, Flight Centre UK has been named one of the top employers in the country. In fact, this year the travel experience company has gone up the list six spots, placing 55th in the 'Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For'.
Selected from over a thousand submissions, Flight Centre saw off the competition and triumphed once again – a recognition of its £2 million investment in staff training and continuous development. With a 2,000-strong workforce, the travel giant puts this year's success down to its passionate and driven employees, as well as an unshakeable team culture, a high level of diversity and huge scope for personal growth.
Based on an anonymous survey led by the Sunday Times, statistics show that 85% of Flight Centre employees enjoy time with their team and 83% agree that they help one another in the workplace; results that demonstrate a strong sense of community and camaraderie amongst colleagues. Over three quarters of staff earn an average of £34,000 per annum, and 66% say they are paid fairly by sector standards. There is high employee morale, with 80% saying that managers are appreciative when they do a good job and care about them as individuals.
Flight Centre UK's Managing Director, Chris Galanty, said: “To be recognised in the list for the 12th year running is an incredible achievement. 2016 is set to be a big year of growth for the company, which means more opportunity for employees when it comes to leadership, new locations and promotion. I am delighted for the company and proud of our hard working staff – without their dedication we wouldn't be able to deliver amazing tailor-made travel experiences that are better than customers will find anywhere else in the country.”
