Kanagawa Tourism

Located just next-door to the metropolis of Tokyo, Kanagawa Prefecture offers the appeal of having quick and convenient access to the big city while having countless ways to enjoy nature away from the crowds. We have selected a handful of locations mentioned in our Luxury Collection booklet to share. These are overnight stays where travellers can get a breath of fresh air while in Japan for either business or leisure.

Ryokan stay deep in the mountains…

Surrounded by the luscious greenery of the Hakone Mountain Range, nature lovers can find their inner peace with a stay at the Okuyugawara Yui Shiyo Ryokan. The large windows throughout the Ryokan showcase the mountain's scenery, and guests can enjoy the minimalistic Japanese architecture throughout the residence as well as their hot springs. At mealtime you can indulge yourself with a full Kaiseki course meal made with only the highest quality seasonal ingredients.

…Or above the valley

Hakone Ginyu is a spa-resort Ryokan that is also located in Odawara. It is situated at an altitude of about 420 metres, overlooking the valley allowing you to enjoy the beauty of each season. Each room has its own outdoor bath so that guests can relax in the privacy of their own room and behold the grand mountains. The seasonal breakfast and dinner courses showcase the local produce and can be served to you in the comfort of your own room.  With such a luxurious experience, you won't ever want to leave your room!

Try Yacht Glamping on the Bay

Yacht glamping on the Riviera Seabornia Marina at the beautiful Koajiro Bay is a must-try experience. Check in with a welcome drink at the Marine Clubhouse before boarding. With this experience guests stay overnight on the yacht while they relax, wine and dine on-board. This leisure is only available for one group a day so be sure to reserve ahead.

Wind down in a rooftop hot tub at Sunset

Those who want to stay closer to the city can say at Scapes the Suite at Hayama. This small hotel is located on the beachfront where guests can overlook Sagami Bay with Mount Fuji in the background. Relax within the hotel's facilities, go for walks on the beach or even rent a bike from the hotel to stretch your legs and explore the quaint town Hayama. We recommend trying their rooftop hot tub at sunset to unwind at the end of the day.

Stay like Royalty in Yokohama City

If you must have the city on your doorstep, you can treat yourself to a stay at the iconic Hotel New Grand which has been open since 1927. This classic hotel has a nostalgic atmosphere with the architecture of the main building remaining unchanged since it's opening.

This hotel has panoramic views of Yamashita Park and the Yokohama Port, and is conveniently located in the CBD right next to Yokohama Chinatown – the largest in Japan.

Within the Hotel itself you can taste exquisite Japanese-European fusion dishes from one of their many fine cafés or restaurants. Being lined head to toe with magnificent attention to detail and with top-class service, staying at this hotel is sure to makes all guests feel like royalty.
