Fishmore Hall is delighted to announce the appointment of Andrew Birch as Head Chef. Previously Senior Sous Chef of the 3AA Rosette and Michelin-starred Montague Arms in Hampshire, Birch joins Acorn Award winner and owner of the boutique hotel, Laura Penman, to re-launch Forelles restaurant for Spring 2015.
Located in the foodie hot spot of Ludlow, the hotel has built up a loyal following with both visitors and local guests. Birch has created a series of new tasting menus and brings a wealth of experience with him. Originally from Swansea, Wales, Andrew has previously been awarded Young Chef Apprentice of Britain in 2005, Young Chef Apprentice of Europe in 2005, and was a finalist in the Roux Regional Scholarship in 2006.
Andrew commented, "I'm really excited about being at Fishmore Hall. I think that the hotel and restaurant have a great reputation already and is an ideal starting platform for me to build upon".
Fishmore Hall owner, Laura Penman stated, “We're delighted to welcome Andrew to the team at Fishmore Hall. We have exciting plans for the restaurant and look forward to welcoming old faces and new guests to try the new menus".
The hotel launched in October 2007, following a 22 week refurbishment from a near derelict state.

Fishmore Hall
Fishmore Hall is a Regency-style hotel, owned and run by Acorn Award winner, Laura Penman. Laura purchased Fishmore Hall as a derelict property and in 22 weeks transformed it into a boutique 15 bedroom hotel.

Andrew Birch – Head Chef
In November 2014, Forelles restaurant at Fishmore Hall, welcomed new Head Chef Andrew Birch. Andrew comes from the Michelin starred Montagu Arms in Hampshire where he gained a wealth of experience working with famed chef Matthew Tomkinson.
Prior to the Montague Arms, Andrew was Senior Sous Chef at Cafe Royal in London, Head Chef of Lower Slaughter Manor in the Cotswolds and Head Chef of the Grange Hotel in York.
