First Lady Announces Grand Prizes For "Where In Wisconsin Is Jessica Doyle?" Online Game

WI Department of Tourism

First Lady Jessica Doyle today revealed the destinations for the first two of four grand prize getaway packages for the "Where in Wisconsin is Jessica Doyle?" online game. During a visit with students from Lincoln Middle School at the Wisconsin Black Historical Society Museum, she announced that on March 18th one student will be awarded an overnight getaway to Milwaukee and their teacher will receive a Bayfield package.

"As I have traveled throughout Wisconsin, I have enjoyed hearing how much students are enjoying the game," First Lady Doyle said. "Now, in cooperation with the Wisconsin Department of Tourism, we are offering two grand prize getaways as an incentive for middle school students to learn even more about Wisconsin."

One lucky student and their family will receive a "Milwaukee Metro Madness Getaway", donated by the Greater Milwaukee Convention and Visitors Bureau. The Milwaukee package includes one night deluxe accommodations with waterpark privileges at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center, four passes to the Milwaukee Public Museum, dinner for four at Buca di Beppo, a Wisconsin State Fair Family Fun Pack, a Family Passport from the Wisconsin State Historical Society and a $30 Mobil gift card.

A second getaway package has been reserved for the teacher of the grand prize-winning student. The "Historic Bayfield Getaway" includes a $150 gift certificate towards a stay at the Pinehurst Inn at Pikes Creek, a five-course gourmet dinner for two at the Old Rittenhouse Inn, complimentary three-hour "Grand Tour" for two from the Apostle Island Cruise Service, a Family Passport from the Wisconsin State Historical Society and a $30 Mobil gift card. The Bayfield Chamber of Commerce generously donated the teacher grand prize.

For a chance to win the grand prizes, students can play the game on the First Lady's Web site whereisjessica.wi.gov. Using clues provided, students can "find" her each week in a mystery city or town and submit their response. Students guessing the correct answer are then entered in a random drawing for a weekly prize. All of the students who submit correct entries during the school year are then entered into the grand prize drawings. Last month, Mrs. Doyle announced that students can submit their own mystery city and clues as suggestions for her to visit and for possible use in the game.

Where in Wisconsin is Jessica Doyle? is a joint project between the First Lady and the Wisconsin Department of Tourism to promote Wisconsin travel destinations that are educational and fun. The goal of the project is to teach students about the abundance of interesting and informative places in Wisconsin that are affordable and accessible to everyone. The online game is open to any student in 6th, 7th, or 8th grades and is found at whereisjessica.wi.gov.
