Travelers have more fun ways to chill out on vacation. In Mesa, Arizona visitors are gaga for yoga and there are plenty of ways to find peace in these parts. The newest yoga offerings range from cow cuddling and neon lights to practicing your Om in an olive grove.
COW CUDDLING AND FARM ANIMAL FUN AT GOAT YOGA Sarah Williams and April Gould, owners of Goat Yoga, have expanded their classes and now feature Cow Cuddling with Maisy, the Jersey dairy cow that mixes right in with the goats. Do the downward dog with alpacas, giant lizards and oversized bunnies – and even the occasional hedgehog. During the guided yoga class, these gentle, sweet and loving farm animals roam the fields and are placed by the instructor on guests in specific poses. Class attendees have described animal yoga as therapeutic and effective in relieving their daily stresses of life.
OM & OLIVES AT THE QUEEN CREEK OLIVE MILL Find peace at the base of the San Tan Mountains when you start your morning with yoga at the Queen Creek Olive Mill. Arizona's only family-owned and operated working olive mill and farm, their monthly classes take place in the middle of their Tuscan-inspired olive grove. Set the colors of your soul free as you bathe in black-light paint, dance with glow sticks, and stretch to soothing beats. Focus on the flow and glow of movements in this high-energy class.
COWBOY YOGA AT DIERKS BENTLEY'S WHISKEY ROW This country twist to traditional yoga is the ideal class for cowboys and cowgirls who need to warm up before hitting the dance floor. No experience is needed as class attendees swap line dancing moves for striking a cobra pose in this upbeat, Western-inspired yoga class. Country favorites and classics are played as guests get down low and learn to lift themselves a little higher.
