Oaks Oasis' Hotel King Room 27 Jun 2014
Final Refurbishment Phase Underway for Oaks Oasis, Caloundra

Oaks Hotels, Resorts & Suites

Popular Caloundra resort Oaks Oasis on Queensland's Sunshine Coast has embarked on the third and final stage of its landmark refurbishment program that will see a complete property re-launch by September 2014.

The $9.7million overhaul will broaden the property's appeal to travellers and enhance its reputation as one of the Sunshine Coast's most idyllic resort destinations.

The final phase, set to cost $1.6million, will see Oaks Oasis' Sunset accommodation wing completely transformed over an intensive two-month period, including all studios and one and two bedroom apartments. Rooms will be totally refreshed and are set to welcome new kitchens/kitchenettes, bathrooms, fixtures, carpet, paint, furniture and balconies.

Since acquiring the iconic resort in mid-2012, Oaks Hotels & Resorts has focused its attention on transforming the property in its entirety, already completing significant refurbishments to its common areas, Reflections Restaurant & Bar, extensive conferencing and event venues – with all five spaces now boasting state-of-the-art facilities – and most recently, unveiling the new-look Boomerang accommodation wing and brand new onsite water play park – giving the resort a unique point of difference.

Oaks Hotels & Resorts' CEO Brett Pointon commented on the refurbishment. “The revitalisation of the Sunset Wing is the final feather in Oaks Oasis' cap after a comprehensive and successful refurbishment program; a welcome update to an already popular resort that we hope will reenergise our guests.

“Once completed, both leisure and business travellers will benefit from the refreshed product and enjoy an unrivalled level of quality, self-contained, coastal-inspired accommodation paired with an impressive selection of onsite leisure and conferencing facilities set against a picturesque Sunshine Coast backdrop.

“This major undertaking is the first of many within the company's planned refurbishment schedule and we look forward to breathing new life into a selection of our centrally located hotels and regional resorts,” he said.

The current Sunset Wing refurbishment will pose no disruption to guests of Oaks Oasis and is expected to be completed by 31 August 2014.

Oaks Oasis comprises 180 guest rooms set amongst 10 acres of manicured gardens, just metres from Golden Beach and other nearby attractions. The resort's leisure facilities include a fully-heated water play park, central, tropical pool with spa, children's playground, onsite restaurant and bar, beach volleyball court, miniature putting green and floodlit tennis court.
