Last week in Panama City Beach, Florida, two F101 Voodoo Supersonic Fighter Jets made their final descent as they were sunk three miles offshore in approximately 70-feet of water.

The two jets that fought in combat in the 1960's were retired in 1986 and will now serve as artificial reefs to promote sea life in the Gulf of Mexico.

Panama City Beach offers some of the best wreck diving in Florida; historic wrecks are scattered throughout the region, and include the 185-foot Black Bart, the 441-foot World War II Liberty Ship, and the 465-foot Empire Mica.

The Gulf waters surrounding Panama City Beach provide the perfect home for a wide variety of marine life. Sea turtles, Goliath Grouper, and bottlenose dolphin are just a few of the species that you can spot in the emerald waters of Northwest Florida, making Panama City Beach your ideal jumping off point for an amazing diving adventure.
