Festival events explore historical themes spanning ancient empires to contemporary culture through intimate talks, readings, discussions and Q&As with contributions from acclaimed writers, academics, cultural commentators and public figures.

Guest authors include award-winning author and journalist Will Self, crime-writing superstar Mark Billingham, million-copy best-selling novelist Christy Lefteri, and broadcaster and art historian Loyd Grossman. There are free events for children and young families, readings, competitions, and workshops too. Most events take place at The Collection on Danes Terrace in Lincoln's Cultural Quarter. Author events are usually priced at £10 per ticket. For more information, please see https://www.lincolnbookfestival.org/

Frequency Festival (28th – 31st October)

Marking its tenth anniversary this year, the digital arts and cultural event, Frequency Festival, will takeover the streets of Lincoln over four days in October, offering visitors a new and immersive way to explore the historic city. The biennial Frequency Festival is an imaginative fusion of art, heritage, media and culture and is a celebration of creative achievement with 'Connection' as this year's theme.

Frequency Festival turns the city into an open-air gallery, featuring works from established and emerging artists around Lincoln's historic centre, and based around the Cornhill Quarter. With its theme of Connection, this year's festival is a platform for artists and audiences alike to examine, contemplate and playfully think about communication and connection. As part of the programme, visitors will be able to meet a 9-meter inflatable robot snail, explore AR technology showing pollution in real-time and hear 3D immersive sound from streets around the world. For more information, please see https://frequency.org.uk/
