HONG KONG, May 8, 2013 --- On Father’s Day (Sunday, June 16th) InterContinental Hong Kong pays tribute to dads with special lunch and dinner celebrations at its five diverse restaurants.

 

Treat dad and the family to a memorable lunch or dinner at one of the hotel’s Michelin star restaurants, which include Yan Toh Heen and THE STEAK HOUSE winebar + grill (both 1-Michelin star) and the 2-Michelin star SPOON by Alain Ducasse. Alternatively, enjoy the innovative new style Japanese cuisine of NOBU InterContinental Hong Kong.  Harbourside offers elaborate international lunch and dinner buffets; while the Lobby Lounge provides a stunning panorama for Afternoon Tea.

SPOON Father's Day Brunch

The 2-Michelin star SPOON by Alain Ducasse offers a sophisticated, yet relaxed family style dining experience for Sunday Father’s Day Lunch with traditional French regional delicacies created by SPOON Executive Chef Philippe Duc.

 

Select from two buffet areas – one showcasing Breakfast Favourites with freshly baked breads, croissants and condiments; the other featuring  Country French “Campagnard” style items including traditional French terrines (such as duck foie gras and paté en croute), marinated salmon, cured ham sliced from the bone and a selection of gourmet French cheeses with condiments. Then, select a main course from the á la carte menu (Roasted Beef with green asparagus; a Cookpot of local market fruits and vegetables; Atlantic Cod with white coco beans, piquillos and shellfish; or Rack of Lamb with spring vegetables).  Finally, save room for the Dessert Buffet with a selection of homemade pastries and sweets, served with coffee or tea.

                                                                                                                                               

SPOON Sunday Brunch is inclusive of a glass of sparkling wine, followed by wine with lunch (with a choice of 2 white wines and 2 red wines selected by Chief Sommelier Mathieu Ginglardi), plus fresh juices and freshly brewed coffee or tea.

SPOON Father's Day Dinner

Enjoy a 6-course set dinner HK$1,588 per person created by SPOON Executive Chef Philippe Duc showcasing Chilled Broccoli Soup with ewe’s cottage cheese; French Chicken – Artichoke – Foie Gras cooked together and then Royal Sea Bream, with morels and yellow wine. For the main course,

Beef tenderloin, ‘‘petits farcis’’. This is followed by Cherry – Pistachio and finally, Chocolate-Coffee with  cappuccino granite.

 

Enjoy Sommelier Mathieu Ginglardi’s wine pairing for an additional HK$488 per person (inclusive of 4 glasses of wine) or HK$688 per person with wine pairing and a glass of Champagne Alain Ducasse

Father’s Day Sunday Champagne Brunch
Free-flowing Perrier-Jouet Champagne, wine, beer, fresh juices and soft drinks are just the start of Hong Kong’s most elaborate Father’s Day Brunch, with hand-made sushi and freshly sliced sashimi, lobster, an “action station” with pan-fried Foie Gras, plusAsian dishes, home-made Indian curries, Chinese noodles and Italian pasta. There is also a carving station and freshly made dim sum. The buffet also includes a selection of the finest ham and salami from Italy and Spain and imported cheese from France.

 

A decadent dessert buffet includes hot soufflés, crepes made-to-order and a chocolate fountain, plus an extravagant assortment of freshly baked pastries and cakes.

Indulge in a tempting international buffet with freshly made sushi and sashimi, as well as cold fresh seafood including lobster, scallops and prawns. Indulge in pan-fried Foie Gras and Indian, Asian and Western dishes. There is also a carving station showcasing fresh fish and beef. Save room for the dessert buffet, which features chocolate fountains, homemade desserts, an ice cream sundae station, as well as made-to-order crepes and waffles.

Sample an 8-course Omakase Dinner at HK$1,288 per person created by NOBU InterContinental Hong Kong Executive Chef Erik Idos using premium ingredients.

 

The Omakase menu features Anago, Caviar with  blood orange jelly; Shimaebi, Akaika, Sea Grapes with gazpacho ceviche; Pan-seared scallop with sweet potato, seaweed butter; followed by Crispy Pork Belly withcompressed watermelon, shiso amazu. Next is A 5 Wagyu Beef from Nozaki Farm with onzen tamago, mushroom. To wind down the meal, a sushi assortment and clear soup. For dessert, “Dad’s Indulgence” – a mascarpone cigar with frozen whisky and liquorice ice-cream.

 

There is also a Sake and Shochu Pairing Selection for an additional HK$250 per person featuring Koshitanrel, Daiginjo and Daiginjo YK35 Sake from Hokusetsu, Nobu’s sake maker, along with

Yoini Hi Shochu.

The 3-course set dinner menu at HK$1,388 per person inclusive of a glass of wine – served from a Jeroboam (5 liter) bottle of Calabrone, Bastianish, Venezia,Giuilia IGT, Friuli, Italy 2007.

 

STEAK HOUSE Chef Calvin Choi has created a special Father’s Day menu featuring Spanish Iberico Ham with Port Wine & Melon, followed by your choice from the charcoal grill:  Warm Boston Lobster & Lamb Sweet Breads, served with grilled pineapple and port wine vinaigrette or Japan A4 Hida Wagyu Beef Tenderloin (6 oz) served with potato gratin, rainbow carrots, baby spinach and port wine jus.

 

For a grand finale of the meal, our Executive Pastry Chef Cyril Dupuis is creating an Intense Black Chocolate and Caramel dessert.

Father's Day Lunch
Bring the family to Yan Toh Heen to sample the acclaimed 1- Michelin star Cantonese cuisine of Executive Chef Lau Yiu Fai.

 

At lunchtime, select from a choice of two 6-course set menus (at HK$398 and HK$618 per person).

 

Alternatively enjoy the extensive a la carte selections (with a HK$250 minimum charge per person).

 

1st seating: 11:30am – 1:15pm / 2nd seating: 1:15pm – 3:00pm

 

Father's Day Dinner

Chef Lau is creating a special 8-course Cantonese feast priced at HK$888, HK$988 or HK$1388 per person (depending on the choice of soups which include Double Boiled Fish Maw, Winter Melon and Conpoy; Lobster with Porcini and Bamboo Piths Soup or Braised Imperial Bird’s Nest Soup with Minced Chicken).

 

The menu begins with Golden Sea Whelk Roll in Rice Paper. Then following your choice of soup, enjoy Wok-fried Prawns and Crab Roe with Chili Sauce; Steamed Garoupa Fillet with Red Dates and Mandarin Zest; Wok-fried Wagyu Beef with Spring Onion, Scallion and Garlic in Soy Sauce and Braised Ham with White and Green Asparagus. Next is Fried Multi-Grain Rice with Seafood and Crispy Conpoy. For dessert, indulge in Baked Pudding with Hokkaido Milk, Apple and Sago and finally, Chilled Red Bean Pudding with Gold Foil.

There is no place more spectacular to enjoy afternoon tea with mom than in InterContinental Hong Kong’s Lobby Lounge, renowned for its dramatic panoramic views of Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong Island. On Sunday, June 16th, enjoy contemporary classical music performed by our quartet, while taking in the stunning views. Our Afternoon Tea Set showcases Parisian style pastries created by Executive Pastry Chef Cyril Dupuis. It also includes a selection of mini sandwiches, freshly baked warm scones with clotted cream and jam, all served with our selection of the finest international teas by Mariage Frère of France.  

Alternatively try our "Red Box' Chinese tea set, which is a delicious Asian inspired alternative. The stunning 3-tiered Chinese lacquered basket features one tier of savoury items and middle and bottom tiers of Chinese pastries, cakes and tarts made with traditional ingredients, such as lotus paste and mango - all served with a selection of premium Chinese teas.
