FARMstead ED Partners With Great Western Bicycle Rally!

FARMstead ED will be bringing locally grown and locally made producers to the Artisan Marketplace at the Great Western Bike Rally's HUB this Memorial Day Weekend.  For those attending the 4-day weekend billed as the ride for wine lovers and beer tasters, families and foodies, those that hammer and those that cruise, FARMstead ED will showcase some of SLO County's premier commodities, as well as a few best our best kept secrets via an Artisan Marketplace.  Attendees will find themselves wandering through produce, baked goods & craft vendors who will have their products for sale Friday & Saturday after each day's rides.

FARMstead ED will also be presenting 2 Add-On Experiences for riders. 

Ride to Windrose Farm for Garlic Harvest:  Take a tour of this hidden jewel & special family farm to participate in a guided garlic harvest; your reward? take a bag of garlic home with you! A locally grown lunch under the shade trees on the lawn is included.  The Windrose Farm stand will be open to offer grilling produce to take back to the community grill, as well as other assorted locally grown foods.     

Get Your Goat at Alcea Rosea Farm.  Ride out to the Farm to learn how goat cheese is made, from pasture to plate!  Enjoy a tour of the farm & creamery, while meeting the newest members of the goat milk cheese making team, “The Kids!”  Cheese tasting and a locally grown picnic lunch is included.

We promote SLO County FARMsteading skills & practices via educational experiences, events & gatherings at pop-up FARMsteading classrooms held at local farms, ranches & Ag related venues. The charm and intrigue is for our guests to have the opportunity to participate in classes in a variety of locations … allowing them to learn and experience hands-on amongst our locally grown and locally made!!    Our FARMstead Ed mobile mercantile will be at each event stocked with items found within our teachings, including all the materials needed to DIY back at your own FARMstead! www.farmsteaded.com
