Family Travel with Colleen Kelly Visits Lafayette, Louisiana, in Season 7

Travel Expert, and Host Colleen Kelly returns for the seventh season of her successful PBS series, Family Travel with Colleen Kelly, where she highlights various unique destinations and showcases each entertaining and educational activities for people of all ages.

Lafayette, Louisiana, is featured in the second episode, which is set to premiere this Saturday, January 14 on PBS. Check your local listings. In the episode, Kelly visits during Mardi Gras, where she attends the Queen's Parade and experiences a courir de Mardi Gras. She also samples King Cake and learns how to peel and eat boiled crawfish before taking a fast-paced ride on an airboat across the Atchafalaya Basin. Also featured in the episode is GRAMMY award-winning Zydeco musician Chubby Carrier for some breakfast and dancing.

During her time in Lafayette, Colleen Kelly says, "Lafayette, Louisiana, was a very family-friendly travel destination filled with warm residents who had arms outstretched to welcome us. They live life to their fullest!" Kelly continued, "We loved experiencing one of the best Mardi Gras celebrations in the country enjoyed by all generations, as well as the delicious southern cuisine and fun and lively culture."
