Family Fun In Devon This Autumn

Visit Devon

Escape to Devon this Autumn for a spooky Halloween, a spectacular bonfire or simply some really good nosh!

Open your eyes to the glow of Devon's rich Autumn colours, watch as the farmers transform the last of the harvest into deep red earth as they plough, or go fossil hunting along East Devon's Jurassic Coast. Whether you're looking to unwind from the stresses of the city, escape for a 'spooky' half term or just fancy a short break this Autumn, seize the moment and visit Devon for a truly memorable break. Discover those hidden places and 'Devon's Top Attractions' that make the county unique.

Hooray for Half Term - the perfect excuse to head to Devon! Be prepared for ghostly goings on as you take a ride on the Pumpkin Express at the Original Pumpkin Fest Fortnight at Crealy Adventure Park, visit Woodlands Leisure Park near Dartmouth for their Halloween Spookytacular, or scare yourself silly during Living Coasts' 'Scary Sea Creatures' week. If ghosts and ghoolies aren't your thing, there will be no tricks, just treats at Pennywell Farm near Buckfastleigh with a week of Jollyween events. Candles and pumpkins galore, winter wildlife including Pennywell's hedgehog trail and different hands-on activities every half an hour.

Celebrate Bonfire Night with or without a bang! Set sail with Stuart Line Cruises from Exmouth and gaze at the displays around the River Exe including the spectacular bonfire at Lympstone. If you fancy Maximum Blast Fireworks, visit Crealy and help banish the Crealy Witch at their Spooktacular event on Friday 29th October. Enjoy an exciting night of spooky fun, ghostly games ending with a sensational firework display to blow you away.

Tempted by a flavour of the West Country? Enjoy the culinary delights of Devon at this year's Celebration of Food Festival throughout the month of October; including gourmet dinners, pumpkins & poetry, hedgerow harvests, lecture lunches and of course plenty of delicious food to sample!
