Brighton, 6 December 2017: A new trip for the 2018 Easter and summer school breaks has been launched by Family Adventure Holidays (01273 803030; www.familyadventureholidays.com), a leading provider of family activity holidays in France.
The Opal Coast Easter Adventure, a three-night, self-drive break, based near the English Channel coast in northern France, offers families the opportunity to bond through a programme of fun activities combined with some gentler pursuits.
High-energy thrills include sand-yachting on the beach at Boulogne-sur-Mer, where participants aged eight to 88 will learn how to sail along the sands with just a few minutes' instruction. Younger children are invited to meet penguins, sea-lions, turtles and sharks in the French National Sea Centre, Nausicaä. Families can also put their heads together and design a remote-control car and race it against similar creations made by fellow guests. Catapult-making, an assault course, Easter cookery and egg hunts, evening games, a family disco, and even mini-spa treatments are among the other activities on offer.
The break is based at the three-star Hotel Moulin aux Draps, set in 22 acres of grounds just outside Boulogne. The hotel offers a choice of accommodation – from interconnecting rooms, to doubles, twins, singles and dorms – and holidays are fully inclusive of food, some wine and all activities.
The Opal Coast Easter Adventure is available 30 March-2 April and 2-5 April 2018, and costs from £249 per adult and £199 per child, including full board, based on families sharing one or two rooms, activities and transfers to Boulogne-sur-Mer.
Meanwhile, the new Opal Coast Family Adventure Holiday is an extended, four-night version of the same break, available in the school summer holidays, 30 July-3 August and 6-10 August 2018. It costs from £329 for adults and £299 for children, on the same basis as above and with a similar mix of activities, but offering extras such as high ropes and a forest ramble, both for the whole family, and a cheese-and-wine voyage for the grown-ups. Plus, there's a trip to Le Touquet, where there are seven kilometres of golden sands to enjoy and chic boutiques and gourmet food shops to explore.

Notes to editors:
Family Adventure Holidays offers adventure and activity holidays at great-value prices in locations on the Opal Coast and the French Med and in Normandy and the Ardèche. There are no hidden extras, and some are offered on an all-inclusive basis. All breaks include a flexible programme of activities designed for specific age groups combined with activities for the whole family. The holidays do not include international travel.
The company was founded in 2012 by Nigel English under the umbrella of Voyager School Travel (Class Tours Ltd), a leading operator in the school travel sector.
As parents of children across the age range, Nigel and his wife Lisa, who has since joined the business, have a true understanding of what makes a fantastic holiday for all the family. This is complemented by years of experience providing educational, activity and adventure holidays to schools, led by staff who are recruited for their engaging, encouraging and fun demeanour, to fit with the company ethos and high standards of safety. The intimate size of the venues ensures that the staff get to know all the families.
The incredibly low price of the holidays reflects the no-frills accommodation, with limited double beds available in certain centres. But no compromises are made on cleanliness, the excellent quality of food, prepared by French chefs, and the unrivalled activity packages led by talented animateurs and qualified sports coaches.
The holidays, based at five centres, include:
