Fairmont Le Reine Elizabeth

Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth hotel is undergoing a rooftop to basement transformation to reinvent the hotel's service experience. The renovation, a $140-million investment by Ivanhoé Cambridge, started in June 2016. All the common areas and over 500 guest rooms will be ready for the 375th anniversary of Montreal and the 150th of the Canadian Confederation in June 2017. The rest of the rooms will be ready before the end of 2017. The renovation will bring additional suites; expanded Fairmont Gold rooms and lounge; a business campus; a signature bar; a cosy coffee lounge; a lively restaurant; an urban market; a wellness centre with indoor pool; an outdoor terrace; a panoramic rooftop space and a vibrant lobby event lounge. Propelling the hotel into an exciting new chapter, the renovation will celebrate Montreal's history, culture and joie de vivre.

HOTEL HIGHLIGHTS:

URBAN MARKET

This unique concept is a first in a hotel in Canada. It will come to life in a contemporary environment and offer various tempting options that will vary throughout the day, from early breakfast to late night snacks. It will be divided into separate zones including a specialty grocery store with fresh seasonal products and takeaway foods, healthy ready-made meals, signature or imported gourmet products, meat and fish counters with a selection of dishes to eat in or take away, a bakery, a pastry shop, a fine chocolate and crêpe station, as well as a concierge station with wrapping and delivery services. In keeping with the sustainability commitment of Fairmont hotels, the market will focus on promoting foods from artisanal producers presented by friendly staff who will assist guests in their exploration.

JOHN LENNON & YOKO ONO SUITE

Thanks to virtual reality, diving into Bed-in memories is now more immersive than ever. While sitting on the bed, visitors will relive what happened in this iconic suite that was totally renovated and enhanced to create a more complete experience. Interviews, musical creation and various scenes will be showcased with 360 degrees VR technology. Visitors will have the opportunity to live the bed in experience from John Lennon and Yoko Ono's point of view. Archives content will be broadcasted with vintage yet working devices. Guests will listen to conversations, watch interviews and discover rare content that only the Suite 1742 witnessed.

MIXOLOGY – LIQUID ART

Guided by our award-winning Director of Mixology, Nader Chabaane, we've stirred things up to create a new signature bar featuring a progressive cocktail experience, challenging the conventional notions of classics drinks for the most discerning taste buds. Combining the craftsmanship of traditional bartending and the artistry of experimental mixology techniques, classic recipes are reinterpreted with contemporary flair. Drinks are expertly crafted with premium spirits and homemade bitters, syrups and infusions are paired perfectly with innovative gourmet bites. A new outdoor terrace will be the perfect place to unwind after work or have a late nightcap.

NEW ART COLLECTION

A new curated collection has been assembled for the hotel, featuring cutting-edge work by established and emerging artists. A large number of them are internationally renowned, and their work is shown in galleries around the world. They share the spotlight with local artists who have been influenced by the city's multiculturalism and diversity. The collection's eclecticism brings it to life and reflects the avant-garde style of their work. The pieces provide an experience, urging viewers to admire the collection as a whole. It marries beautifully with some of the original local artwork from 1958.

BUSINESS CAMPUS

The Queen Elizabeth's meeting space is being transformed into an immersive business campus that will be among the most modern in North America. Composed of a series of interconnected spaces, it will become a natural setting for business people seeking creativity and collaboration. This meeting space will be an innovative digital ecosystem tailor-made for today's hyper-connected world.
