The Five Alls at Filkins is the latest pub/restaurant with rooms venture from renowned chef, Sebastian Snow. Located in the heart of the picture-perfect village of Filkins, Gloucestershire, Five Alls, is a beautiful, 18th century Cotswolds stone coaching inn with rooms. Re-opened in October 2012, following a sensitive and extensive refurbishment, the Inn features a spacious bar, three lovely dining rooms, a private dining room, and upstairs, four gorgeous bedrooms, all en-suite. Outside, there's a pretty cottage garden for alfresco dining and a large car park.
The Bar
Expect a great range of carefully selected wines and beers served in a spacious flag-stoned bar with inglenook fireplace, exposed beams and rough Cotswold stone walls. Relax in one of the squashy, old leather Chesterfields, or head outside to a parasol-shaded table in the garden. Drinks include craft beers, local cask ales and lagers, 15 wines by the glass and special house cocktails and seasonal mixes, eg; English garden mojito and passion fruit bellini.
The Restaurant
Heading up the Inn's kitchen, Sebastian Snow sources the best local produce available for Five Alls innovative, monthly-changing à la carte menu of modern British dishes with Italian influences (Sebastian's mother is Italian).
There's also a 'little people' menu for children and a bar menu offering traditional British favourites such as devilled kidneys, potted shrimps and hearty soups with home-made bread. Snow is also renowned for his fish dishes with fresh supplies arriving daily from Looe in Cornwall.
The Bedrooms
Upstairs, the Inn's four elegant bedrooms come with crisp linen and duck down duvets, the headboards covered in locally made fabrics by Cotswold Woollen Weavers. Rooms feature fireplaces, thick all-wool carpets, vintage furniture and travel trunks, local paintings, old photographs and hand-turned beehive doorknobs, while limestone tiled bathrooms offer fantastic walk-in showers and organic toiletries by Bramley.
Interior style
The Inn's charming and original features include flagstone floors or oak floorboards, inglenook fireplaces, exposed oak beams, whitewashed wood and Georgian sash windows, all complemented by contemporary Cotswolds chic décor chosen by interior designer, Miranda Snow, and Sebastian's wife, Lana. Together they've created cosy, welcoming and stylish interiors for Five Alls using antique kelims, vintage wallpapers, dove white, charcoal and slate grey paint finishes on walls and tongue & groove panelling, thick hessian curtains and Roman blinds. Original works of contemporary art and original black and white prints by photographer Bill Brandt cover walls throughout, alongside some quirkier touches such as antique gramophone speakers upcycled as pendant lights, antler wall lights and wall-mounted taxidermy, vintage posters, gilt frames and antique glass chandeliers found at local auctions, markets and fairs. Elsewhere, huge vases of fresh flowers and wrought iron lanterns flickering with candlelight only add to the Inn's relaxed, laid-back vibe.

Profile of Sebastian Snow
Formerly the chef/owner of Snows on the Green in London, then head chef at the multi-award winning The Swan at Southrop, Sebastian Snow moved to the Cotswolds from London five years ago with his wife Lana, who oversees front-of-house at Five Alls. 'We have never looked back since leaving London,' says Snow. 'It was the best move we ever made and it's been the best five years of my life. Our quality of life is so much better, and we've really enjoyed simplifying our lives and our needs.'
Alongside Sebastian, other investors in Five Alls include model and wife of artist Jake Chapman, Rose Ferguson, Chelsea football club chairman, Bruce Buck, and former Harlequins and England rugby team player, Alex Snow.
