The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW Foundation has announced the recipients of their Rural Scholarships for 2015. Through the contribution made by ExpoNet two highly deserving rural students will receive a scholarship in recognition of their individual study plans and contribution to their communities.

Olivia Hamblin of Nevertire and Trisinta Bernasconi from Taree were both selected by the RAS Foundation committee for their inspirational and highly competitive scholarship submissions. Olivia's scholarship will help fund her medical degree at the University of New South Wales. Trisinta's scholarship will be used to provide her training and help her qualify as a social worker. Jim Delahunty, Managing Director, ExpoNet said, “ExpoNet has always been committed to providing opportunities for young people to develop and grow and we are proud to be associated with this program; we wish the girls every success for their future.”

The RAS Foundation Rural Scholarship program calls for submissions from rural students who may be facing financial hardship, problems of access to education and who wish to contribute to the successful future of their community.  This year the RAS Foundation selection process involved a review of hundreds of submissions and via donations from the likes of companies such as ExpoNet, the RAS Foundation was able to award a total of 56 scholarships valued at $267,500.

Kate Ross, Executive Officer, RAS  Foundation said, “We are incredibly grateful to have your support so that we can assist more rural students who are truly committed to building a positive, vibrant and successful future for rural Australia.” For more information on the RAS Foundation Rural Scholarship program see: http://www.rasnsw.com.au/About-RAS-Foundation.htm
