The Royal Gunpowder Mills have a range of not-to-be-missed, thrilling activities planned over the summer holidays. Venture out to their Secret Island for explosive and mad-cap fun for all the family!

Families can get their geek on with Prof. Nitrate, the Royal Gunpowder Mills' super scientist as he demonstrates incredible science as well as getting to grips on the Test Range with everything from rockets to ride on contraptions. 

With themed adventures and lots of interactive things to do there is something for all the family to enjoy this summer, every day of the week:

'Secret Monday Missions' - Become a fully-fledged Secret Island Agent every Monday when you'll be tasked with challenges, code breaking and secret missions.

'Experimental Tuesday' - Every Tuesday Prof. Nitrate is on the lookout for mad scientists in the making to have a go at improving some of his famous experiments.

'Rocket Trials Wednesday'- Every Wednesday real mad rocket scientists will be launching real scale rockets. These ones aren't to be messed with, and certainly aren't to be missed.

'Creative Thursday' - Join the team every Thursday for creative and imaginative activities, from t-shirt painting to hat making.

'It's Friday: Let's Go Wild!' - Explore the natural environment and survive in the wilderness with activities from den building to creating natural paints. 

Set in 170 acres of natural parkland, the Royal Gunpowder Mills mixes fascinating secret history, exciting science and beautiful surroundings to produce a different day out for all the family.   Take a trip in the land-train or military truck to discover more about this secret island.

Visitors can trace the history of explosives in a stunning audio-visual show, uncover the truth behind the infamous Gunpowder Plot, come face to face with some real space rockets and get to grips with more than 200 firearms ranging from rocket launchers to machine guns in the fascinating Armoury.
