MIMARU

Join us in welcoming our 5th location, MIMARU KARASUMAOIKE NORTH in Kyoto, we opened it on August 1st!

Kyoto is one of the top destinations in Japan to visit and visitors often come back again and again to see it’s beauty in every season.

Our rooms are nothing like those cramped normal hotel rooms, they are spacious, which is perfect for families and friends to travel together. Our rooms are great for groups of four to six people, or just for one or two people who want to experience a home away from home. If you have a larger group, we can accommodate up to ten people with a connecting room. We have a selection of designs both in Japanese and Western styles, with bunk or loft beds available depending on your preference.

We speak your language! At least our robots do. We have a multilingual AI concierge, specializing in English and Chinese. We offer a tablet at the front desk that you can use with a translation application that operates in 13 different languages to help us communicate with you better. We also provide each room with a smartphone to take out while you are experiencing Kyoto to help you navigate, translate and always keep you connected to the internet. For some countries including America, you can make unlimited calls with our Handy smartphones.

We are conveniently located close to festivals and events areas which makes it perfect for you to attend and experience Kyoto like a local.

Here is a list of local traditional Autumn festivals to enjoy when staying with us.

September - November

  • Kangetsuno-Yube [観月の夕べ] September 13th - 15th, Friday - Sunday

Where you get to experience what aristocrats’ enjoyed during their spare time 1200 years ago. As part of the experience, you can be on a boat to look up at the moon.

  • Zuiki-Matsuri [ずいき祭] October 1st - 5th, Saturday - Wednesday

A harvest festival where people carry a mikoshi made out of food to celebrate their harvest success of the past year.

  • Zidai-Matsuri [時代祭] October 26th, Saturday

Known as one of the 3 big festivals in Kyoto. People wear costumes from the historical eras and march the streets to parade like a moving picture roll.

Our rooms are decorated in a modern Japanese way and of course every room has WiFi, a fully equipped kitchen and a relaxing living room. Even though we are conveniently close to local Japanese restaurants, our kitchens are fully equipped for you to make yourself whatever you want to eat. This is great for families who have finicky eaters or for those late night snack cravings.
