Feedback following this year's Luxperience tourism exchange has again been overwhelmingly positive, with exhibitors, buyers and media all agreeing that the event was the best one yet.
A total of 228 exhibitors attended this year, an increase of 53 per cent on last year's event, and they were given the opportunity to meet with a pool of over 470 handpicked specialist luxury and experiential buyers from both Australia and key global inbound markets.
Buyers and visiting media were impressed with the range of luxury and experiential product on display not only from the region but from around the world and exhibitors were equally impressed with the quality of leads generated at the event.
96 per cent of exhibitors said that they felt the buyers were of a high quality, with over 85 per cent saying they are likely to return next year.
Tourism New Zealand CEO, Kevin Bowler said; "We are excited to wrap up another successful year at Luxperience. This year marks our third as a key partner of Luxperience and was the biggest yet, with 35 of New Zealand's premium operators attending alongside us - up 70 per cent on last year.”
“Other luxury trade events are important but Luxperience is the only one in the southern hemisphere. It means, in most instances, we can get more exhibitors than we would were it in China, the U.S. or Europe.
North Star Cruises' Business Development Manager, Charity Turner said the quality of the clientele had been fantastic at the event, while Matt Casey, General Manager, Tourism at Federal Group Tasmania, said he was impressed that all the buyers he had met had proven to be qualified luxury travel specialists.
Sofitel Sydney Wentworth Director of Sales & Marketing, Geoffrey Webb, remarked that in an era in which the online world and social media had so much influence on travel decisions, Luxperience offered great opportunity to meet face to face with clients.
“Anything that gets us together with our clients in a great environment like this is time very well spent,” he said.
