Hamish Neale began work as executive chef for Shangri-La Hotel, The Marina, Cairns on 4 February 2008.

Chef Hamish previously worked on Hayman Island with �The Leading Hotels of the World� as executive sous chef. Recently executive sous chef at Grand Hyatt Mumbai, Grand Hyatt Melbourne and Park Hyatt Sydney, Chef Hamish brings with him a wealth of knowledge in HACCP-based food safety and a passion for water sports, food and wine. Chef Hamish has done off site catering for Mumbai�s first Shakira concert, been on opening teams for restaurant openings and refurbishment of banqueting facilities and catered for the famed Melbourne Cup breakfast party.

Leading the food operations of Shangri-La Hotel, The Marina, Cairns with Sous Chef Nicholas Issel and Director of Food and Beverage Bruno Couesnon, Chef Hamish will take the hotel�s culinary direction to a new era, especially with Shangri-La event centre functions. Projects such as a new Thai restaurant and extension of the popular B�8 lounge bar are also planned.
