The Greek National Tourism Organisation is delighted to invite 20 journalists and bloggers to a pre-show reception to be held at the "The Forum" on Wednesday October 30, 2013 between 19:00 to 20:30. Please come and join us and enjoy authentic Greek hospitality through a range of delicious Greek mezes and wines, enter a competition to win various prizes, have a chance to view artwork from the Museum of Greek Children's Art in Athens, and enjoy a night full of music, art, videos, and poetry.
At the pre-show reception, among other things, guests have the opportunity to view artwork from the Museum of Greek Children's Art and experience Greek history, tradition, everyday life, and culture, through Greek children's eyes and creativity. Join us and discover the magic world of children's art from one of the few museums in its kind world-wide.
A live music show will follow from 20.30 onwards!
The Other Side of Greece is no ordinary show. It's a multi-artistic approach to the Greek culture through time and trends. On stage, Philippos Pliatsikas, founding member of Pyx Lax, along with his friends Eleonora Zouganeli, Babis Stokas, Georgia Ntagaki and the legendary Greek folk artist, Petroloukas Halkias will play songs that have been loved by three generations of music fans while our young guns' Gautier's tunes will introduce the audience to some cutting edge Greek music.
The show will be honored on stage by Gordon Gano, lead singer, composer and founding member of the legendary post-punk band Violent Femmes! Especially for The Other Side of Greece show in London, Gordon Gano will present an extract from his yet-to-be released album, a tribute to the Greek Poet, Kavafis.
In addition to above performances Greece's natural beauty will be brought alive through a series of videos & paintings, while renowned Greek actor Theo Alexander, star of US drama series True Blood, will join Nadia Spiliotopoulou on stage for recitals of Greek poetry including works by Kavafis and Nobel Prize winners Seferis and Elytis.
