Minister foTourism, Major Events and the ArtsGeorge Souris, has announced two new exhibitions exclusivto Sydney.

 

Covering more than 200 yearof American art, history and experience, 80 workwilfeature at the ArGallery of NSW, while the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA) will present the first major Australian exhibition by the artist and activist Yoko Ono. 

 

ThSydney International ArSeries, supported by the NSW Government, bringthe world’most outstanding exhibitions to our State, and this year– the series’ fourth iteration– is no exception ” Mr Souris said.

 

Sydney will be the only city in Australia to host the exhibitions Americapainting a nation and WaIs Over(if you wanit):Yoko Ono.

 

This is a very rare opportunity to see the most expansive survey of American paintings ever exhibited in Australia featuring celebrated American artists Jackson Pollock, GeorgiO’Keeffe, James McNeil Whistler, Winslow Homer and John Singer Sargent.

 

Yoko Ono is onothe world’s most legendarand intriguing personalities and the exhibition spans five decades of her careerincluding hetimwith husband JohLennon.

 

We are expecting visitors from around Australia anfrom across the AsiPacifiregion ttravel to NSto see these exhibitions, which are exclusivto Sydney.
