The Central America Tourism Agency is organising a press trip to Guatemala, Nicaragua and El Salvador from 30th May – 11th June. 

This exciting trip will experience the highlights of Guatemala, Nicaragua and El Salvador with three days in Guatemala, four days in Nicaragua and three days in El Salvador.

Increased air connectivity to the rest of Central America is opening up the whole region, enabling travellers to experience beaches, archeological ruins, mountains and the cultural diversity that define the whole Central America region, in just a few days.  The itinerary includes a combination of culture, history and nature, with some adventure activities thrown in, to showcase the depth and diversity of Central America for UK holidaymakers. 

Highlights of the trip include visiting the largest excavation site in the Americas, Tikal in Guatemala, a boat tour on Lake Atitlan, sightseeing in the colonial city of Leon in Nicaragua and touring one of El Salvador's most important archaeological sites, Joya de Ceren.

The trip is being organised by CATA – The Central America Tourism agency (www.visitcentroamerica.com) which represents the tourist boards of seven Central American countries. CATA's objective is to promote multi-destination travel, so our coverage stipulation is that features include travel details to both countries.
