SPOON Mother's Day Lunch

The 1-Michelin star SPOON by Alain Ducasse offers a sophisticated, yet relaxed dining experience for Mother's Day Lunch with a new all-inclusive lunch experience showcasing traditional French delicacies created by our SPOON Executive Chef Stéphane Gortina and Pastry Chef Oliver Lannes.

 

Begin with a selection of Viennoiseries and homemade bakery items (Croissants, pain au chocolat, pau au raising and toasted bread), served with farm fresh cottage cheese, jams and honey, plus homemade organic muesli. Next is a selection of homemade bread and bordier butter, served with organic eggs prepared any style (with black truffle, fresh herbs, wild mushrooms, green vegetables or organic bacon, and served with French Iberico Ham and Pickles and homemade Salmon Gravlax.

 

For the main course, enjoy Meat from the Carving Trolley, Steamed Wild Fillet of Fish and green vegetables or our Oven-baked Cookpot of cereal and local seasonal vegetables.

 

Next is a selection of matured cheese and crushed condiments, followed by fresh mixed berries, a choice of seasonal sorbet and ice cream. To conclude the experience is a selection of Paris-Parisiennes by Pastry Chef Oliver Lannes.      

 

The SPOON Sunday Lunch is inclusive of a welcome glass of Alain Ducasse Champagne or Burgey “Cerdon” (an exclusive  rosé sparkling wine by Bernard Rondeau), followed by wine with lunch (with a choice of 2 white wines and 2 red wines selected by Chief Sommelier Mathieu Ginglardi), plus fresh juices or mocktails  and freshly brewed coffee or tea.

Mother's Day Sunday Champagne Brunch

Free-flowing Perrier-Jouet Champagne, beer, wine, fresh juices and soft drinks are just the start of Hong Kong's most elaborate Mother's Day Brunch, with hand-made sushi and freshly sliced sashimi, lobster, “action stations” with Peking duck, pan-fried Foie Gras, Asian dishes, home-made Indian curries, Chinese noodles and Italian pasta, a carving station and freshly made dim sum. The buffet also includes a selection of the finest ham and salami from Italy and Spain and imported cheese from France.

InterContinental Hong Kong's Executive Chef Nicola Canuti, Harbourside Chef Calvin Choi and their team are seducing seafood lovers with this elaborate international buffet showcasing a myriad of ocean-fresh crustaceans, including Boston lobster, Spanish prawns, razor clams, scallops, crab, yabbies, plus mussels, whole abalone, sea urchin, octopus and much more.

 

Especially for Mother's Day, the Seafood Extravaganza will feature Whole Abalone, Baked Oysters with BBQ sauce and Deep Fried Oysters with salty chilli. One of the signature dishes is Pan seared Spanish Red Prawns with Citrus Olive oil. There will also be fresh Spanish Tuna Sashimi, a  Chinese Steamed Fish and Shellfish « Catch of  the Day »,  Bird's nest , Shredded Abalone & Whelk  Seafood Soup. plus favourites like Peking Duck and Baked Lobster (with Cheese). On Sunday, May 3 & 10, NOBU InterContinental Hong Kong presents a special Mother's Day Paper Crafting Workshop with Catherine Lui, a local paper crafting designer and owner of “Cathcraft – Scrapbooking & Papercraft”.  (https://www.facebook.com/Cathcraft).

 

Paper craft is the collection of art forms employing paper or card as the primary artistic medium for the creation of three-dimensional objects. It is the most widely used material in arts and crafts. It lends itself to a wide range of techniques, as it can for instance be folded, cut, glued, molded, stitched or layered. 

 

Learn this special paper art form with Catherine, who studied the techniques in Hong Kong and now conducts private workshops. At the paper crafting class, Catherine will teach you how to make and decorate your own unique gift box, as a present for your mother.

 

The class includes a light breakfast with coffee and pastries prior to the class. Then following the class, enjoy a 6-course NOBU lunch inclusive of juice or soft drinks. Described by the French like a fine wine, it has rich and complex aromas and is acclaimed for its taste and tenderness.

 

Our Sommelier suggest pairing this exclusive French beef “De Charolles” AOC Beef with one of Wine Spectator's 2014 Top 100 Wines - Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Saint Cosme (Rhone Valley, France 2010) which ranked #23 on the list. Bring the family to the recently renovated Yan Toh Heen to sample the acclaimed 2-Michelin star Cantonese cuisine of Executive Chef Lau Yiu Fai.

The menu begins with a Golden Crab Claw with Minced Shrimp and Fig Salad. Following the soup course is Simmered Boston Lobster with Herbs and Butter in Supreme Broth. This is followed by Steamed Eastern Star Garoupa, Crispy Chicken Flavoured with Golden Garlic, Braised Turnip and Conpoy with Japanese Mushrooms;  Fried Rice with Assorted Seafood, Yunam Ham and Egg Whites; For dessert: Sweetened Walnut Cream with Hokkaido Milk and Peas and a Crispy Coconut Dumpling with Bird's Nest.
