EVA Air

Prestigious award recognitions, upgraded experiences, new routes, increased services and unmissable code-share agreements – 2016 has been a busy year for EVA Air; Taiwan's leading independent airline, and it's showing no sign of slowing down!

Below are the latest and upcoming key developments from the award-winning airline and Star Alliance member.

The Newest Recipient of SKYTRAX's Prestigious 5-Star Ranking

In June 2016, EVA Air became the eighth airline to receive SKYTRAX's highest global quality rating, joining a small, elite group of eight carriers that are now recognised as “the best of the best”. EVA's potential for five stars was recognised by SKYTRAX following a number of in-depth analyses across the carrier's product and service delivery, and the outcome of this global recognition marks the achievement and commitment of all EVA Air staff to deliver the highest standards of customer service at every stage of travel.

Triumph at the 2016 World Airline Awards

EVA Air continued its success into July 2016, when it was recognised amongst the top 10 airlines in the world, as well as the “Best Transpacific Airline” with the “Best Business Class Comfort Amenities” by SKYTRAX at the 2016 World Airline Awards. These new accolades are the result of an extensive customer survey – which measured the standard of 'Quality' across 41 key performance categories – that was carried out over a 12-month period; with over 19 million international customer participants.

Officially one of the “World's Most Loved Airlines”

In August 2016 EVA Air was rated as one of the world's top 3 “Most Loved Airlines” by global airline quality ratings website SKYTRAX. This latest seal of approval – the third in three consecutive months – further cements the airline's status as one of the best in the world. SKYTRAX invited travellers to rate overall flight experiences, across eight key categories, and EVA Air scored a satisfaction rating of 81%. Eight of the world's top ten most-loved airlines are Asia-based carriers.

Star Alliance Code-share for Central America

Additionally, EVA has announced the initiation of a code-share agreement with fellow Star Alliance member, Avianca, making travel between Asia and Central America much more convenient for both the airlines' passengers. This initiative launched in August 2016 and is available now.

Upgraded Overnight Kits for Elite Class Travel

This month, EVA Air announced a product upgrade for all overnight kits in Elite Class travel on long-haul flights; bringing a taste of business class luxury into the carrier's premium economy cabin. As before, the overnight kits contain toiletries from famous Thai aromatherapy brand THANN and includes toothbrush and toothpaste; THANN moisturising cream and lip balm; socks; a hair comb; earplugs; and sleep mask.

This October, EVA Air are set to increase the frequency on two already established flight routes – Taipei-Brisbane and Taipei-Paris.

Tuesday 4th October: Increasingly popular amongst business and leisure passengers alike, the Taiwanese carrier is set to introduce three new flights on its Taipei-Brisbane route; increasing the service frequency from two to five weekly flights. The route has been in operation for almost 23 years, and is expected to carry additional high-spending visitors as a result of the increased frequency.

Monday 10th October: Increasing from three-times-weekly, EVA Air has announced an increased service on its Paris-Taipei route which will start to operate daily, non-stop flights. EVA Air will continue to operate its existing service with the iconic Hello Kitty Hand-in-Hand Jet, introducing a modern, standard livery Boeing 777-300ER for the additional four flights to the European City of Light.

BRAND NEW North America Route

For November 2016, EVA Air has announced a brand new route that will connect Taipei directly with Chicago, making the 'Windy City' its eighth gateway into North America. As of Thursday 3rd November 2016, the new Taipei-Chicago route will become the latest addition to the airline's expanding network in America, facilitating more one-stop connections to more destinations throughout Asia and Mainland China than any other carrier.
