TAIWANESE AIRLINE ENHANCES FREQUENCY AND ONBOARD SERVICES WITH THE ADDITION OF ITS 3RD NEW AIRCRAFT
Following the delivery of its third new Boeing 777 aircraft, EVA Air is expanding its trans-Pacific routes to North America. Effective from today, Taiwan's leading independent airline will increase its North American services from 45 flights per week to 55 – providing more flights from North America to Taipei than any other airline.
By increasing capacity on its North American services by 22 per cent, passengers of EVA Air can enjoy greater convenience and extra flights to Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Toronto and Vancouver. EVA Air will deploy the new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft across the following routes in order to expand services in one of its most important markets:
- Los Angeles, increasing from 17 to 21 flights per week
- New York, increasing from five to seven flights per week
- San Francisco, increasing from 12 to 14 flights per week
- Seattle, continuing with five flights per week
- Toronto, increasing from three to four flights per week
- Vancouver, increasing from three to four flights per week
Added to the increased capacity, fliers can take can advantage of new inflight systems, upgraded cabin designs and enhanced service items onboard the new aircraft. Not only is EVA Air the first carrier in the world to operate its B777-300ERs with Panasonic's new eX3 inflight entertainment system, the airline's Sky Wi-Fi and Global Communication Suite (GCS) enables passengers to use their wireless mobile devices at altitudes of 20,000 feet and higher on long-haul flights.
As it places these new Boeing 777-300ERs in service, EVA Air has created new interiors that are both stylish and relaxing. Design firm, Teague, took inspiration for the airline's cabins from the views outside the windows during flight. The carpet features parallel strings of ornaments with staggered orange and green lines, while Royal Laurel and Elite seats are equipped with changing mood-light systems and full-grain leather headrest covers. Also in Elite, as well as Economy cabins, seat spaces have been increased to give more passengers more leg-room, and now feature individual AC outlets and USB ports.
In addition to upgrading its cabins, EVA Air has updated its Royal Laurel inflight service items. Passengers can now enjoy new state-of-the-art, noise-cancelling headsets – offering better sound quality and advanced features, such as cabin noise and engine sound reduction. The Taiwanese carrier has also enhanced its onboard levels of comfort by offering pyjamas for passengers. Unlike other airlines that provide them in first class only, EVA Air's new pyjama service will be available for all those travelling in Royal Laurel class. The new nightwear is made from silky soft fabric and is designed to make long-haul flights more comfortable than ever.
Highlighting its commitment to using natural products, EVA Air is now serving Fiji Water in Royal Laurel class. This popular premium-bottled product hails from Fiji where it is collected in the Yaqara Valley on Viti Levu Island. The water is rain-filtered naturally through ancient volcanic rock in the rainforest to create its soft and smooth texture, laden with minerals and silica. Additionally, Economy and Elite classes now feature Escents lavatory toiletries that are created in Canada with plant-based ingredients and natural essential oils.
The newest member of Star Alliance, EVA Air links an international network of major destinations worldwide, including dozens of cities in China and throughout Asia. Business and leisure travellers can book flights on the new aircraft and access the expanded schedules through travel agents and EVA Air's website at www.evaair.com
