Egypt's President Sisi meets with leading European travel representatives
Egypt's President El Sisi and Minister of Tourism, Hisham Zaazou, met with leading tour operators from European markets recently, 17 November 2014, to discuss the resurgence of Egypt as a holiday destination.
The recent news, announced at World Travel Market 2014, that Egypt has witnessed a triple digit increase globally compared with the same period in 2013 has been well received by tour operators, and reflects the paramount importance all parties place on the tourism industry and the Egyptian economy.
Plans are already in place to reposition Egypt's image as a tourist destination. Affirming their support of this and their full cooperation with the Egyptian State, the tour operator representatives confirmed that they would closely monitor the advisories issued by governments and consult the agencies that review them when appropriate.
Additionally, President Sisi pledged an immediate congregation with a high-level ministerial committee to address and put in to place a plan to tackle the main issues, including; stepping up security and providing a safe environment for tourists. Furthermore that Egypt fully supports both local and foreign investors looking to implement tourism projects - projects that will benefit from simplified laws, rules and regulations.
Bringing the meeting to a close, the President agreed to share details on Egypt's Charter Incentive Programme, PR plans, and application of new technology that will be implemented to reverse negative views of Egypt, pushing the destination forward as a must-visit tourism hot-spot. All of these elements are expected to increase its tourism market share and bring its unparalleled holiday offering to the masses.
